Minneapolis Metrodome, Metrodome Roof Collapses With Snow: Video

Minneapolis Metrodome, (AP) – The National Football League moved Monday’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants to Detroit after the roof of the Metrodome Minneapolis collapsed in a snowstorm.

Kickoff at Ford Field will be 7:20 pm Eastern.

League briefly considered moving the game to the University of Minnesota TCF Bank Stadium, but the school said he could not be ready in time.

The roof of the Metrodome Teflon failed on five hours Sunday after a snowstorm dumped more than 17 inches of snow on the region on Saturday.

Metrodome, Facilities Manager Steve Maki (MOCK’-ee) says the team is optimistic the roof can be repaired in time for next Monday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

The New York Giants is scheduled to have an away game in Minneapolis against the Vikings this Sunday. However, their flight from New York on Saturday, their flight was diverted to Kansas City.

The last hope is that the game will go ahead on Sunday, but may be delayed for a 1:00 pm kick off at 4:00 pm kick off.

He promised not to descend until it was raised to 100,000, but after reaching the halfway mark on Saturday morning, he said he hoped the rest of the money would come quickly. He did not wait to spend another night in the blizzard.

“I think I crossed the line into madness,” he said.

Stevens slept in a tent among the hay bales, wrapped in a sleeping bag with double insulation listening to the wind whipping off Lake Minnetonka one block.

There was lively lunch crowd Saturday in the Birchwood Cafe in Minneapolis. Dennis Collette, there is a baker, was back inside after she and her colleagues spent 20 minutes of futile attempt to free his car parked in a snowdrift. Dennis still hoped to find a way to return home in the suburb of Roseville, about 12 miles – but it was also prepared to stay put.

The coffee had no beds, Dennis said, “but we have several bags of flour I could not sleep. And I guess at least I will not starve.”

Minnesota Tornadoes:Wadena, Minnesota – Police and National Guard troops are blocking the entrance to the tornado damaged neighborhoods in the northwest of Wadena as the people of Minnesota are preparing to begin cleaning up after devastating storms.

At least three people were killed and dozens injured as tornadoes hit much of Minnesota on Thursday night.

In the northwestern part of the state, an elderly woman died in Almora and a gas station owner was killed in Mentor. In southern Minnesota, one person died on a farm west of Albert Lea.

Officials in Wadena meet to plan the next step in the city. The storms destroyed or damaged dozens of houses, downed power lines and left a large part of the city without trees.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty planned tour the storm-damaged areas on Friday.
