Vikings Stadium Collapse, The collapse of the roof of the Metrodome early Sunday morning has left the Vikings and the Giants without a place for their Week 14 clash, but they should be happy that they are not inside when it happened.
The “deflated” roof seemed to swell in the dome – a leak of more snow in small streams of powder – as seen from inside the stadium.
Forecasters say the Santa Ana winds blowing in from abroad could send Southern California temperatures to near record levels.
Jamie Meier of the National Weather Service said downtown Los Angeles could see a high of 82 degrees on Sunday. The record for December 12 is 86 degrees in 1895.
Temperatures in the region of Los Angeles should remain in the 80 to a cooling trend begins Tuesday.
High winds arrived Saturday with hurricane force gusts above Whitaker Peak. City News Service said wind gusts in the mountains near Lake Castaic hit 78 miles per hour.
Winds exceeded 50 mph in some mountain areas before decreasing Saturday night.

Live from Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, a game between the Vikings vs. Packers will start at exactly 8:20 a.m. ET.
Minnesota restored some confidence with the last Sunday in 24-21 victory in Dallas, but now must travel to Green Bay, where most fans will probably harass Favre as they did in his first trip last November.

On the other hand, Green Bay Packers defensive backs Al Harris and Atari Bigby, who has practiced this week after being placed on not physically perform list to start the season, will not be activated for the showdown Packers NFC North with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
The Packers, who had eight starters injured in last Sunday’s 23-20 losses to Miami, hope to have cornerback Al Harris (left knee) and safety Atari Bigby (ankle) on the ground for the first time this season.
The Packers, who went after losing 7-2 to Favre for the second time last year and found themselves in 2009 installment of the playoffs with the Vikings are no longer in the shadows of Minnesota.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers bounced back from its losses in head-to-head two to Favre, ending the ’09 season with 30 touchdowns passes, seven interceptions and Pro Bowl appearance.
With the history of the game, Green Bay leads the series in the regular season of all time with Minnesota, which dates back to the 1961 season, 49-47-1, but as mentioned has been swept by the Vikings last year the first time since 2005.

Vikings Jets, Taken in a vacuum, the bulk of (October 11) Monday night NFL game between the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings visit was rather dull. For most games, the Jets quietly dominated the line of scrimmage and played great defense while their offense was struggling to get into a groove (they have mostly settled for field goals). But fortunately, the interior drama unfolds in the four quarters of the game is one of the most entertaining games and exciting on the sporting landscape this year. Ultimately, the Jets led the Vikings 29-20, but there is more game than the score.
There were many story lines coming into the game as Vikings receiver Randy Moss made his return to the team after being traded by the Patriots in New England, while the receiver Santonio Holmes returned from Jets a drug-related suspension. The Jets also welcome back corner Darelle Revis, one of the best defensive players in the NFL. And of course there was a lot of attention to Brett Favre and Vikings quart recent allegations of his inappropriate behavior (ESPN reported that Favre has apologized to his teammates in tears at a meeting before the match).
The game itself started late because of bad weather and lightning forced the team to clear the stage twice before the kickoff. When the game finally made its debut, each defense has managed to close the other side relatively efficiently, preventing key offensive players to find a groove. On the way, Favre became the first player to throw over 500 touchdowns and pass for over 70,000 yards (he also passed Warren Moon for the most part escaped in NFL history). At the end of the third quarter, Favre got hot and started throwing touchdown passes, and although the Jets finally found the end zone, Favre had narrowed the gap to 22-20 with just minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter. After some care clock management issue Jets quart Mark Sanchez, the Vikings got the ball with just under two minutes to play in the game (and if you thought ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski and Jon Gruden, the game was all but wrapped up as long as Favre had the ball). The old gunslinger could not get there, however, and on a third attempt, he threw a lazy pass that was intercepted and returned for the touchdown tiebreak.
It was a great victory for the Jets, who are now in sole possession of first place in the AFC East. In honor of their great victory, enjoy R. Kelly “Sign of victory.”
