Metrodome Roof, The roof of the Metrodome where the Minnesota Vikings play their home games at the Mall of America in the field – collapsed Sunday morning under heavy snow that bombed the region over the weekend and will not be available for host the Vikings’ game against the New York Giants, the NFL announced Sunday. KARE-TV in Minneapolis reported Sunday that the inflatable roof caved in and was not visible from the ground level. The roof at the Metrodome in Minneapolis collapsed Sunday morning under heavy snowfalls that have bombed the region during the weekend.
KARE-TV CAPTIONVia The Associated Press reports that Bill Lester, executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission said the damage was assessed.”Nobody was hurt, we are grateful,” said Lester According to ESPN, Lester said the dome was damaged two panels that are part of the Teflon bubble.
BRETT FAVRE: QB said his streak would have ended on Sunday The stadium was scheduled to host the Vikings’ game against the New York Giants on Monday, a game that had already been postponed a day because of snow in the region. The NFL said it is exploring options on where to host the game, including the University of Minnesota or another indoor stadium NFL.
Minnesota’s football team plays its home games at TCF Bank Field, an outdoor facility that opened in 2009. 50 805 seater stadium could be a makeshift home for the Vikings, if necessary, but ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that the Giants did not travel with them outdoors, warm clothes because they expected to play the game inside.
The Vikings have been looking for a new stadium in Minnesota. They played in the Metrodome since 1982. And as both a college football team and baseball team the Minnesota Twins have built new stadiums, the Vikings remained the only major team playing in a stadium in the ancient city.
Metrodome Collapse

Metrodome Collapse, As you know, the Giants are off Saturday night in Kansas City and were planning to fly to the Twin Cities thing Sunday morning the first day. It makes for a tight schedule independently, but I understand that the condition of the roof Metrodome has also been a cause of delay.
Typically, operators use Metrodome heated to melt the snow on the roof to prevent collapse. The amount of snow received on Saturday and high winds expected Saturday night makes this task difficult to complete. The NFL noted that “the Metrodome officials” recommended a discharge of playtime
The result is that Favre gets more time to rest an injury he says left him “more undecided” that was never subject continues his series. You have love.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league Metrodome officials said the dome will not be available for the Giants-Vikings game Sunday – and he would not even be available if the league were ready to push the game come back another day Tuesday.
So now the league is exploring alternatives, and plans to play the game Monday night. According to Aiello, the options are “on stage at the University of Minnesota or another indoor stadium NFL.”
The University of Minnesota stadium is outdoors, which would be brutal, given the time in Minnesota this week. The Giants got on their plane yesterday thinking they were heading to Minnesota to play an indoor game, and they did not bring their gear in hot weather with them, the Giants have to scramble to prepare for play in the freezing cold.
Earlier, the AP reported that the snowstorm that pushed the game back a day caused a partial collapse of the roof inflated the Metrodome.
Thus if we consider the conduct of Indy or Detroit to watch a NFL game? You can see a team that will probably make the playoffs. Can get to see Brett Favre too. (The funny thing is that there is much speculation that Favre would not have been able to play if the game was on Sunday as originally planned.)
