Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert, You already knew Adam Lambert was going to release his second major-label album, Trespassing next month. But did you know that it is one of two CDs the former “American Idol” runner-up will be dropping this year?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second release, Beg For Mercy, is not necessarily one that Lambert wants out in the world, but it will see the light of day thanks to the settling of a lawsuit.

Colwel Platinum Entertainment had sued Lambert over claims that the singer had interfered with its attempts to release Mercy, which was recorded before Lambert rose to stardom as the runner-up in the eighth season of “Idol.” The two sides reportedly came to terms with each other and the lawsuit was dismissed less than four months after Colwel accused the singer of allegedly making a false claim under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and sending a takedown notice to Amazon.com after Colwel had the album on the site.

The company claimed that it owned a 50 percent share of the publishing in the recordings and that according to its contract with Lambert it had the right to promote and sell his music. Now, Colwel has dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice and gotten assurance from Lambert that he won’t stand in the way of Mercy’s release.

Both sides also made it clear that Lambert’s deal with Colwel never, as rumored, made him ineligible for “Idol,” though Colwel’s original complaint in the case mentioned that it might have.

“The Colwel Platinum Entertainment lawsuit against Adam Lambert has been resolved,” read a statement from the company to the Reporter. “Adam has withdrawn any objections to the release of ‘Beg For Mercy’ and he has approved the use of his songs and performances in these pre-‘Idol’ recordings which are interpretations of his artistic vision at the time. Neither Colwel Platinum Entertainment, Inc. nor Malcolm Welsford ever stated that Adam was not eligible to participate in American Idol when he did so and regret that the lawsuit’s allegations were misinterpreted.”

Adam Lambert AMA KissAdam Lambert AMA Kiss, Adam Lambert took to Twitter on Thursday to officially introduce his new band line-up to his more than 1.25 million Twitter followers. Although many fans are already familiar with most of the band members, there is a new addition. Adam began the introductions with his new bass player, Ashley Dzerigin, “ladies and gents: for those of you who don’t know, please meet @ashleydzerigian – my new badass diva on bass.” Ashley is replacing Tommy Joe Ratliff, who played bass for Adam’s Glam Nation tour, because Tommy Joe is moving to the position of lead guitar. Adam shared the news, saying, “And mr @TommyJoeRatliff is feat as lead guitar now. He understands my musical vision, plays so tastefully and as an ensemble! Go team!” For those that did not see Tommy on tour, many may remember him from the infamous AMA kiss two years ago. Adam kissed Tommy, who played keyboards that night, causing a controversy that lasted for months. In addition to Tommy and Ashley, Adam introduced Isaac Carpenter and Camilla Grey, both who were part of his band during Glam Nation. He tweeted, “And the incomparable @isaacthecarp on drums!! So in the pocket!!! And the biggest heart…” and added, “And @UhHuhHerMusic’s Cam on keys!! A true artist and musician… And a sexy spirit!! Luv ya Cam!!”

Adam’s band members are probably already known by many people because of their individual projects. Cam is part of the electro-pop indie band Uh Huh Her. Isaac Carpenter has a long list of credits, having played with Loudermilk, Gosling, and Duff McKagan’s LOADED, among others. Ashley Dzerigian was a part of the bands My Jerusalem and Great Northern. Prior to joining Adam Lambert’s band, Tommy Joe Ratliff played in several bands in L.A., such as Eat the Crow, Mouthlike, and Turn of the Screw, among others.

Although Adam Lambert is a solo artist, his band members add much to his live performances. In fact, in addition to their solo endeavors, the existing members have also gained their own fan following of Glamberts from the past tour. Now that Adam has formally introduced everyone, are you excited to them perform his new music? Hopefully fans won’t have to wait long, because Adam will probably start the promotion tour for his new single soon!

Adam Lambert Ama Video Youtube

amas-2009-2VIDEO! UPDATE #1- How have viewers reacted to this YouTube video of Adam Lambert’s AMA performance? Has Adam Lambert’s AMA YouTube video of For Your Entertainment become a hit or a miss among fans?

Here is the latest on the AMA performance.

First, Adam Lambet’s AMA video has become the most visited awards show performance video on LALATE in 2009. Even more interesting, the video, first profiled late Sunday night, is as talked about now on Wednesday as it was on Sunday.

The reason for its popularity? Is it the controversy over the video, or is it the love of Adam? Or do fans feel a label has taken an incredible talent and paired him with staging that prevented them from seeing this talent truly shine?

One comment says the performance reflects today’s reality and is true to anything you would see in a nightclub.

“Wow Adam Lambert is one of the most gutsy performers I have ever seen. I loved his performance. Kudos to the choreographer who came up with that routine. The AMAs have always shown progressive and controversial performances but this year AdamLambert’s song topped them all. That was so hot, so close and unexpected and I know even the performers who were grabbing themselves in their own songs were like…”No He Didn’t”! That’s right he did! It was hot! This is our music of tomorrow folks and it so reflects society today. Go to any night club and you see girl on girl, guy on guy and etc.Adam was just showing folks what is out there and he did it to his song perfectly.Loved the high notes. Adam is fierce, sexy, bold and yes everyone will talk about this tomorrow! I can’t wait to see him on Ellen!”

Some simply loved it while others found it a horrible miss.

“I believe Adam will illicit the response he expected… Loved it!… Soooo “over the top” and you sure entertained me… ROCK ON!”

“Adam Lambert is great. Love the music. Loved your AMA performance.”

“Now we know for sure – the correct person DID actually win American Idol after all… there’s absolutely nothing to idolize here!”

But many felt they wanted to see Adam’s talent, and because of the staging, that’s not what they saw.

“I was an Adam Lambert fan, but after seeing his classless demonstration … I no longer have any desire to listen to him as an individual. He had a chance to be respected for his talent, instead, he chose to impress those who are more interested in whatever it was he was trying to prove. BTW, I lost respect for Madonna and Brittany for their lame attempt at getting attention. … This wasn’t cable.Adam knew this. In our time zone, kids could have still been up. I cared about Adam based on what I saw on American idol, now that I know he doesn’t care about what’s important to me, I have no interest in defending him.”

“I too was a big fan of Adam Lambert. But that performance on AMA was way too over the top. He came across like a freak instead of a unique talent. What a waste. Let’s hope he decides to go for the music instead of the shock value.”

The bottom line is Adam’s fans adore his talent and wanted to hear it. Did this performance achieve that?

Adam Lambert Ama Video

November 25: Adam Lambert AMA video, American Music Aawards Adam Lambert and Justin Bieber broken foot. Adam Lambert is being criticized for his gay act on stage during the AMA ceremony. Hundreds of complaints have been filed against this budding singer who had made a mark for his performance during a reality show.

Even his diehard fans have turned against him saying that he wanted the fame to come through short route. They also say that he has so much talent that he could use it to reach the top instead of taking to antics in poor show.

Bernie says, “Adam you have no talent. You are disgusting. My children were watching the awards and they don’t need to see you with a guys face in your crotch, or you with your hand in a woman’s crotch, etc. Sick Bas***d! Some of the other so called performers s****d also. Crotch grabbing foul mouth trash! No wonder our youth are so misguided. They think this is the norm”.

Marline says, “We were huge Adam fans on idol b/c of his voice & yes, even to see what he would do next. But this is carrying it way too far. We were shocked, embarrassed & totally disgusted by this performance. & to everyone saying what abou the other performers? They were shocking & disgusting too. We wonder what’s wrong with our kids & our world today”?

Kate says, “We have decided never to watch his any other show in the future. It was so much painful sitting in front of the television set with kids and having to endure this and similar acts”.

Another reader says, “The whole show was disgusting – what happened to true entertainment and not just “shock value”. Adam Lambert, who I also loved on AI, was totally disgusting – and it wasn’t necessary”.

But there are others who don’t agree with this point of view. Daniel says, “I can’t believe how much hate got welled up by this performance. Honestly it isnt any different from the simulated sexual acts of other performers (e.g..britney spears and madonna), I think this shows just how much prejudice is still present in the U.S”.
