How Did Tina Marie Die, (AP) – Teena Marie, the “Ivory Queen of Soul” who developed a lasting legacy with her hits and silky soul with hits like “Lovergirl,””Square Biz “and” Fire and Desire “with her mentor Rick James , died Sunday. She was 54. A Pasadena police statement said the death appears to be natural causes. Police and firefighters were called to her home after family members found her unresponsive.

In an interview with The Associated Press last year, Teena Marie said she had successfully fought an addiction to prescription drugs, she toured last year in support of her latest album, “Congo Square”.

Mary was certainly not the first white act to sing soul, but it was probably the most talented and respected, and he was fully adopted by black audiences.

Even before starting her musical career, she had a strong bond with the black community, which she credited to her godmother. She gravitates to soul music in her youth and decided to do her job.

Marie made her debut on the legendary Motown label in 1979, becoming one of the few white acts to break the barrier of race from the record label owned Black revolutionary who had been a haven for black artists like Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, the Supremes and Marvin Gaye.

Mary was a protégé of James lecturer funk, with whom she had long relationships, turbulent but musically magical.

The cover of her debut album, “Wild and Peaceful,” was not her image; with Motown apparently fearing black audiences would not buy it if they found her with the dynamic gospel voice were white accents.

And “Fire and Desire,” a duet with Rick James that featured the former couple considering their past love, was considered a musical masterpiece and a staple of romance on the block radio stations across the country.

Mary left Motown in 1982 and became its rupture history: She sued the label and the legal battle led to a law prohibiting the record companies to hold an artist without releasing any of their music.

She went to Epic in the 1980s and had hits like “Lovergirl” and “Ooo La La La”, but her musical legacy would be her Motown.

Yet she continued to record music and performs. In 2004 and 2006, she set two albums well received on the traditional rap label Cash Money Records, “The Dona” and “Sapphire.”

In 2008, she spoke of her joy at being honored by the Foundation & BR.

“Overall, it was a wonderful, wonderful ride,” she told The Associated Press at the time. “I do not intend to stop anytime soon.”

Providence Journal:PROVIDENCE, R.I. — It’s an innocent enough looking tractor-trailer, except for the fact that it’s blocking a street in downtown Providence. But what’s inside may give the heebie-jeebies to some.

A spokesman for medical instrument maker Smith & Nephew told The Providence Journal the truck contains human body parts as well as body parts models the company’s using to demonstrate it’s endoscopic surgery instruments at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine meeting at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

The body parts, mostly isolated joints, are used so surgeons can get a feel for the company’s instruments, or sharpen their skills.

The truck has been parked in the street with permission from the city since Tuesday and is scheduled to leave Friday.

The family of Brittany Murphy is mourning the loss of the 32-year-old actress.  Friends, fans, and well-wishers are using the popular networking site Twitter to share thoughts and memories about the young celebrity.

TMZ was the first to report the sad news about Brittany Murphy’s death.  Now they have reported the news that her husband Simon Monjack told employees at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that he does not want an autopsy performed on his spouse.

The L.A. County Coroner’s office plans to go ahead with the autopsy anyhow.

Allegedly, Brittany Murphy’s mother Sharon told paramedics that Murphy was suffering from diabetes.   It has not been confirmed whether the disease contributed to Murphy’s death by cardiac arrest.

Britney Murphy Dies:Some shocking news coming out of Hollywood today: Brittany Murphy has died of cardiac arrest at 32. The actress, who was known for her roles in Clueless and Just Married, was found unconscious in the shower by her mother at Murphy’s West Hollywood home on Sunday morning, reports TMZ.

A spokesperson for Cedars Sinai Medical Center told People magazine that Murphy died at the facility Sunday at 10:04 a.m. PST. The actress’s rep, Nicole Perna, also confirmed the news, releasing a statement Sunday afternoon that said: “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”

As news of her death spread on Sunday, stars took to their Twitter accounts to pay tribute to the actress.

Her ex-boyfriend and Just Married costar Ashton Kutcher Tweeted, “see you on the other side kid … 2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon.”

Jessica Simpson: “Brittany Murphy was an incredible ray of Light to so many people. Her smile was contagious. My prayers are with her family and loved ones.”

Murphy was married to British writer-director Simon Monjack, who directed her in White Hotel. Before her wedding in 2007, she was previously engaged to best-boy grip Joe Macaluso and talent manager Jeff Kwatinetz.

The actress was known for her roles in films like 8 Mile, Girl Interrupted, Sin City, Uptown Girls and Don’t Say A Word, and she voiced the character of Luanne in TV’s King of the Hill.

In recent years, her career has been in decline and she made headlines last month when she was replaced by Twilight actress Rachelle Lefevre on The Caller. Her rep denied reports that she had been fired from the film, released a statement saying, “She was not nor has she ever been fired from any job big or small … [due] to creative differences Ms. Murphy and the production mutually parted ways.”

TMZ reports that Monjack told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife. However, the L.A. County Coroner’s will reportedly launch an investigation into her death.
