Prince George’s County, A Gaithersburg man was arrested in the slaying of a Prince George’s County teenager, police said.

Jonathan Blades, 27, is charged with first-degree murder, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. He was arrested Monday in the 2900 block of St. Clair Drive in Temple Hills.

At around 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 5, police went to the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in Suitland to check on the welfare of an unresponsive man. When officers arrived, they saw 19-year-old Darryl McCoy suffering from an apparent gunshot wound near an apartment complex’s parking lot, police said. McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Loudoun County Public Schools, Loudoun County authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a teenager who disappeared from the Chantilly area since early December. Fourteen years Jennifer K. Sanford was last seen alive Dec. 2 when she left her home on Terrace Sandman go to school, according to the Sheriff’s Office Loudoun County. Jennifer is considered an acquaintance, 20, Nicky Liu, of Berryville, Va. Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office Loudoun County, said he did not know how Jennifer Liu and knew or were in a relationship, but said they were “connected” and Liu was “no stranger” to Jennifer. Troxell, investigators have received tips on the case, but authorities still have no concrete information about where they could be gone. The couple has links to other parts of Virginia and other states, he said. Jennifer has given no indication she would quit and the authorities do not know why she had left her home, “said Troxell. Authorities said Liu led a gray 2008 Honda was the KJX4615 Virginia license plate. Jennifer is biracial. It is white and the Pacific Islands, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The authorities described as about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 120 to 135 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Jennifer wears glasses and has pierced ears. Prince William County Schools, The Hampton City Schools with the administration of Phoebus High School, sincerely apologize to our greater community for the recent actions of some athletes Phoebus High School. The Hampton School Division has asked how it feels to be an appropriate punishment for those involved to take items belonging to the Battlefield High School players Saturday, December 11. Although the articles were quickly found and the staff handled the incident Phoebus with professionalism and sincere concern, the division in no way condones such acts. We are all aware that students can sometimes exercise poor judgments and engage in reckless acts. However we hope that the actions reckless and embarrassing than 4 or 5 players are in no way throw the dispersion of the team of Phoebus and many fine athletes who participate in the program.

Superintendent Dr. Linda Shifflett personally called the Prince William County and the Superintendent Battlefield High School Principal, to inform them of his consternation, and a sincere apology. In addition, head coach Stan Sexton Phoebus has apologized to the direction Battlefield High School and head coach as well. The administration has informed Battlefield Hampton school officials that they feel the matter has been dealt with appropriately and is a closed case. We want our community to know that we have presented detailed reports to the Virginia High School League, describing our actions.

We ask that our community not to let this one incident spot the wonderful programs we have at Phoebus High School and across our entire division.
