If I Were A Boy

If I Were A Boy, Miranda Lambert turned 27 on Wednesday and celebrated in a memorable way, with female vocalist and album of the year at the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards.

But the Texas fighter was not the only big winner at the ceremony, as pop-friendly trio Lady Antebellum was named vocal group of the year and single of the year won by the inevitable success “Need You Now.”

For the first time in his career, Brad Paisley won the title of artist of the year, a well-deserved and long overdue honor to a man adored by fans and industry. But despite his emotional speech, the tearful acceptance, gain Paisley is likely to be overlooked in favor of a night full of surprises.

As, first, why was not there more attention to Taylor Swift? Lambert entered the night with a record nine nominations, the most by a female country artist. But unlike the 20-year-old Swift, who reported first week sales of over 1 million of his new album, “Speak now,” Lambert has long been the most beloved of a popular criticism, after having scored his first chart-topper this year only “House built by me” (which also won song and music video of the year). His success on Wednesday night may have been a boost of credibility to Nashville, that Swift had showered before all the awards under the sun, although his voice sometimes unstable in vivo.

For its part, Swift used his performance slot to establish himself as a bit more of an adult, singing

The elegant ballad “Back in December” just a piano, backed by a subtle string section. A bold move, no doubt, but that she might regret, because it sounded humble and discreet, without confidence in them which usually displays.
Kid Rock, too, began his song “Born Free” on the piano, but soon took center stage with a magnificent fringed jacket we’re pretty sure smelled of stale beer and weed. A part-time rocker Bob Seger style, “Born Free” is also the title track to the new Kid Rock album, which goes on sale next week. Not only is it likely to become another smash hometown of Detroit, who is also the first record and probably last to present Martina McBride and rapper TI in the same track. The fact that Kid Rock is now a country music staple awards show, Nashville evidence is beginning to loosen up a bit.

Someone should tell that to Kenny Chesney. Known for his boundless energy, larger than life concert, Chesney police usually out in the award program and leave with a sad ballad. Wednesday night, elected its recent success, “The Boys in autumn”, a nostalgic – and still kind of sad – ballad about high school football.

Fortunately, Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles brought levity to the proceedings by dressing in drag singing dancer and his band of eccentric hit “Stuck like Glue” with a smile a mile wide. With his gentle acoustic guitars and a little reggae fun in the middle, which actually sounds more like a song by Jack Johnson, the surfer-turned-singer who makes a big deal in the circuit of jam band? For the fourth consecutive year, Sugarland took home the Vocal Duo of the Year Award.

Reba McEntire, which was loud and annoying last month at the Target Center, who scored again for your sober cover of Beyonce “If I Were a Boy”, which sounds like another blow to the veteran singer. Pal Reba Kelly Clarkson – who looked fantastic, by the way – joined Jason Aldean rowdy Georgia of “Do You Want to Stay”, a good power, the old ballad of her newly released album, “My Kinda Party.”

A live performance by actress Gwyneth Paltrow polarization reports, there were some Nashville types of stomach, but elegant ceremony producers capitalized on the curiosity factor, the allocation of dates in near the end of the procedure. Paltrow, who plays a singer and songwriter in the upcoming movie “strong country,” seemed a little nervous, but became adequate performance, backed by Vince Gill. (It obviously has some training of her husband, Chris Martin of Coldplay.)

Organized by the third year running by the dynamic duo of “American Idol” Carrie Underwood and Paisley, CMA central point were the actions, rather than long speeches. With a mere dozen awards given to artists, the ceremony all things country, a genre that has become increasingly diverse in recent years. During its opening fun, Underwood and Paisley mocked worldwide Brett Favre Tim McGraw Lady Gaga, working on some semi-hard gags along the way Tiger Woods.

In recent years, the CMA has shown highly polished, commercially driven taste in presenting the award for best new artist of the year to honor the real superstars, including Lady Antebellum, Swift and Underwood. This year, however, may have played a bit too strong, in honor of Zac Brown Band with that title about two years after the group scored its first No. 1 country hits six radio.

In the end, Lambert should see a sales coup ordered by the night, as her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, whose unexpected male vocalist of the year she felt like a further validation for the last queen of the country.

Reba Mcentire, Reba McEntire not choose between the list of countries by their performance on the night of the CMA Awards on Wednesday.

Instead, she borrowed a song from Beyonce singing diva R & B ballad “If I were a boy” at the awards event.

McEntire was one of many performances during the presentation on Wednesday night. Some of the others included Miranda Lambert (who celebrated his birthday by winning three awards), Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who joined Vince Gill to perform the song “Country Strong” a next film.

Better With You

September 23, 2010 by · Comments Off on Better With You

Better With You, Tonight, ABC debuted its new show BETTER WITH YOU. This show revolves around three couples – Mia and Casey, Maddie and Ben, and Vicky and Joel. Mia and Maddie are sisters Vicki and Joel and their parents. Mia Casey just met seven weeks ago, Maddie and Ben have been together nine years, and Joel and Vicky have been married for 35 years. It’s like three generations of couples despite the fact that Mia and Maddie is only four years apart.

Once I learned that a leading actor in this show, I knew I had to set in. Mia is played by Joanna Garcia, formerly of Reba. Maddie is played by Jennifer Finnigan, who recognized me immediately and I knew she loved but could not remember where I saw her. Turns out I still do not know, even after reading his appearances on television before. Regardless, I love it. I’m also a big fan of Debra Jo Rupp, who plays Vicky, and was the mother of That 70s Show. With a cast like this, I had high hopes.

I was not let down. Better with you was cute and funny. The mood was right and Joanna Garcia and Jennifer Finnigan played their parts well and their boyfriends were complimentary to their functions. I loved the interaction between the family and Debra Jo Rupp was as fun as ever.

On this episode we learn that Mia and Casey just met seven weeks ago, but plans to Casey in the proposal and ask for help from Maddie. Maddie, who has been dating Ben for nine years, is not that thrilled about this wedding proposal quickly and Casey is discouraged, or at least to be postponed. She considers her plan backfired when busts Mia Maddie apartment screaming, “Casey suggested. I said yes.” Maddie Just after pondering if Mia would say yes even if Casey proposal.

The next obstacle is that their parents. They have never liked any of the boyfriends of Mia and everyone prepares for the worst. Ben Casey offers tips to win and share their sheet cheatsheet later themes and topics sure winner. Casey decides to be himself and everyone is surprised when Mia’s parents are ecstatic about the announcement of the wedding. Maddie gets offended when people laughed at her “valid lifestyle choice”, everyone takes a drink, play their own game of drinking Maddie.

Maddie I can not let go, however, and continues to press them as to why they need to get married at this time until Ben cries out that Mia is pregnant. Yes they will get married because the condom broke, but Casey says he would have married anyway. Mia’s parents keep up the momentum and soon be celebrating grandparents. The celebration ends when you stop to all and Vicky and Joel Ben find the card tricks. I believe that the future meetings of the family are going to be a little uncomfortable.

I loved this show. The beginning and the end assemblies showing the differences between the three couples was well played. I like that have made the history of a younger sister to marry before her older sister, and added the twist that the older sister actually has a boyfriend and has been with him longer than many marriages. I like Mia and Maddie are exact opposites, but they remain very similar in their sincerity and insecurities. I think this show might be a winner.
