Locust Ridge Music Superstar, One of 12 children, she grew up “dirt poor” in a one-room cabin on a run-down tobacco farm in Locust Ridge, Tenn. She moved to this country music mecca and made a name for herself as a songwriter. Today, she has several Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame and a National Medal of Arts

Dolly Rebecca Parton (born January 19, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, author, multi-instrumentalist, actress and philanthropist, best known for her work in country music. She starred in the movies 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Steel Magnolias, Straight Talk, Unlikely Angel and Joyful Noise. She is one of the most successful female country artists of all time; with an estimated 100 million in album sales, Dolly Parton is also one of the best selling artists of all time. She is known as “The Queen of Country Music”.

Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills, Calif., police say detectives are investigating after pop icon Whitney Houston died in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton.

Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen told reporters outside the Beverly Hilton that Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. in her room on the fourth floor of the hotel. Her body remained there and Beverly Hills detectives were investigating.

“There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent at this time,” Rosen said.

Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the cause of her death is unknown.

Rosen said police received a 911 call from hotel security about Houston at 3:43 p.m. Saturday. Paramedics who were already at the hotel because of a Grammy party unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate the singer, he said.

Beverly Hills Police Department later issued a statement:””Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at the scene by members of her entourage which included friends, co-workers, and family. Ms. Houston’s daughter and mother were notified of here death.”

The statement also added that “the investigation is currently being conducted” and that “there is no additional information at this time.”

“The actual cause of death will be determined by the L.A. Co. Coroner’s Office,” it said.

Houston’s death came on the eve of music’s biggest night — the Grammy Awards. It’s a showcase where she once reigned, and her death is sure to case a heavy pall on Sunday’s ceremony.

But there was a very special guest … Loretta Lynn herself! The singer-songwriter on stage shone absorbing the enormous amount of love in the room. And one thing that is really surprising? Your age! How old is Loretta Lynn?

Reba Mcentire, Reba McEntire not choose between the list of countries by their performance on the night of the CMA Awards on Wednesday.

Instead, she borrowed a song from Beyonce singing diva R & B ballad “If I were a boy” at the awards event.

McEntire was one of many performances during the presentation on Wednesday night. Some of the others included Miranda Lambert (who celebrated his birthday by winning three awards), Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who joined Vince Gill to perform the song “Country Strong” a next film.
