Diana Degarmo: Hairspray Broadway, Diana Nicole DeGarmo (born June 16, 1987) is an American singer and Broadway actress. She rose to fame in 2004, when she later became the runner-up of the third season of American Idol. After American Idol, DeGarmo began a career in musical theatre.

In 2011, she joined the cast of the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless as Angelina Veneziano.

DeGarmo was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but was raised primarily in Snellville, Georgia. DeGarmo began singing at a young age, including at the 1997 Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards and in Atlanta-based stage productions of Annie and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

As a third grader she was a Coca-Cola Kid during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The next year, she sang at Opryland USA during the Christmas holiday season. In 2002, she was named Miss Teen Georgia and was a finalist on the NBC talent search program America’s Most Talented Kid. At ten years of age, DeGarmo was one of the “Cartoon Network”‘s Cartoon Gang and appeared in various segments for the network, discussing cartoons. DeGarmo is niece to Eddie DeGarmo of DeGarmo & Key.

DeGarmo took part in the third season of American Idol in 2004, finishing second after a close race with winner Fantasia Barrino. During her run in the Top 12, she was in the bottom 3 in the top 11, top 9, and top 8 weeks but never fell to the bottom 2. She became one of the front runners by week 6 and did not land in the bottom 3 again.

Fantasia Barrino, Congratulations are in order for Fantasia. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Dallas Xavier, today at a North Carolina hospital. The little 7-pound, 9-ounce, 21-inch-long bundle of joy to the world was an early Christmas gift for his mama.

A new baby is always a blessing, a reason to celebrate, an opportunity to stop and take stock of what’s really important. After being assigned to bed rest until her due date, which was all the way on December 29, however, I’m pretty sure she’s got more than one reason to cheer about her son’s arrival.

She’s been quite secretive about who little Dallas’ daddy is. After a heavily reported affair with former-nobody-turned-tabloid-headliner Antwaun Cook, which led to a suicide attempt and a reality show, I don’t blame her for trying to deflect that part of the story. But it’s pretty safe to say that little Dallas does not have the same father as his older sister Zion, who Fantasia had from a previous relationship (refer back to her Lifetime movie, Life Is Not a Fairytale, if you don’t remember that she was a single mother when she tried out for, competed in, and totally rocked American Idol).

But folks like to turn their noses up at 1) single motherhood (secret thought: shame on you for depriving the little bambino of a father to come home to!) and 2) women with kids by more than one man (secret thought: try keeping your legs closed and not procreating with … everybody). Poor Fantasia has the disadvantage of being both, so judgment is falling fresh on her like red chips at a bingo battle royale.

But she’s got plenty of company. Lots. Earlier this year, a report released by Cassandra Dorius, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, unearthed statistics about American mothers. Her work revealed that 1 in 5 women in this country have kids with multiple birth fathers.

She also concluded that gals who have children with more than one man are disadvantaged. They’re underemployed. They have lower incomes. They’re less educated. They’re also more stressed, more prone to sustaining struggling households, and more likely to keep birthing babies by multiple daddies.

So not only are they broke, dumb, and frazzled, but they’re hardheaded, too. Well damn.

Twenty-eight percent of American women have children with multiple fathers — about the same number of people who have college degrees in this country. That, as the researcher so poignantly points out in her remarks about her groundbreaking work, is substantial. I suspect her findings lean more toward single women with several failed romances under their belts, but it’s also worth noting that that number should, and hopefully does, include divorcees and widows who’ve remarried or otherwise moved on to have more children.

Is baby number two of Fantasia, which is the mother of daughter Zion nine years old? Fantasia sang in Jacksonville, Florida, and just before she sang: “While the angels”, who shared the news of the pregnancy! “You are the first people to share the news with and share this with you because I identify with you … I’m carrying this child, God has given me this child. And not have to hide any of you all.”

Fantasia has had a rocky road since winning American Idol, even an abortion and a rumored suicide attempt. Only last August, was hospitalized for Fantasia drug overdose attempt. He said that Fantasia took a downward spiral after he was accused of breaking marriage Antwaun Cook. In a special VH1 Behind the Music, Fantasia shared that she had an abortion when she discovered she was pregnant with Cook.

In the latest announcement of Fantasia baby, she did not agree with who the father is. But it was not really a surprise for her fans that the star is pregnant. It has been speculated for some time that Fantasia was sporting a baby bump. His manager crushed pregnancy rumors saying the singer gained weight for a role as an actor.

Now that the pregnancy is confirmed, the shared fantasy that the child-father is? We have to wait and see if Antwaun Cook is indeed the father.

Fantasia Overdose, Fantasia overdose is the sad story of the week, as it is alleged that she may have attempted suicide after allegations of an affair with a married man and a sex tape came out this week. Get the full story here along with photos and video.
Fantasia Barrino overdose may have been a suicide attempt. The news is devastating as the winner of American Idol is a role model for many and has tons of fans.

TMZ reports that the singer was overwhelmed by media attention to turn around reports of a case and a tape of sex with a married man, Antwaun Cook, left.

Apparently, everything has to be too much for her and she overdosed on aspirin and a sleep aid. A representative issued the following statement.

The statement said: “Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. His injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the moment. Fantasia is stable now. She will be given released soon. ”

His representative also said that Fantasia was led to believe that Antwaun “was not happy in his marriage [to Paula Cook] and his heart was not in it.” She said she thought Mrs. Cook Antwaun Barrino and separately at the end of summer 2009, and no longer lived together.

Fantasia Overdose, Fantasia Overdose Barrino hospitalized after Antwaun Cook Sex Tape Rumor – “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino has been in the media recently, after the wife of her current boyfriend made claims in her divorce papers there was a video The duo starred sexual involvement in sexual activity.
He said he would use it as evidence of infidelity in divorce proceedings. Now, TMZ is saying that Fantasia Barrino had an overdose of drugs.

Sources have said he was taken to the Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville around 20:55 on Monday. His condition was said to have been life threatening, but the word is that she had an overdose.

The court documents that contained his name was submitted by Paula Cook, and she claimed that her husband Antwaun Cook and Fantasia Barrino, had engaged in an ongoing case in September 2009. In court papers, Paula Cook identifies a tape in its possession as evidence that the two had been seeing each other behind their backs.

Barrino has denied being guilty, and had his manager release a statement to the media stating that she “was not responsible for the deterioration of marriage from those of Cook.”

We hope that the overdose was not related to current events in his life and was just a mistake on his part. Additional details will come in the future.
