Kwame KilpatrickKwame Kilpatrick:Kwame Kilpatrick was out of the list of Compuware Corporation later this month, said a company statement. “We have no choice. It is an unfortunate situation, and we feel bad for his family, but our hands are tied.”

Just today, a frustrated Detroit judge ordered Kilpatrick to serve 18 months to five years in prison, stating that Kilpatrick had lied while probation and maliciously withheld money had to go towards the repayment of the City of Detroit $ 1 million restitution.

“His testimony in this court amounted to perjury,” said Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner, referring to the explanations of the former mayor of how hundreds of thousands of dollars passed through his family’s bank accounts without being accounted for, or applied Kilpatrick’s restitution obligations.

The judge seemed not to give importance to judicial Kilpatrick sentence length and emotional, in which he apologized for his lies in the text message scandal, but said that today is a different and better person.

As Kilpatrick spoke, mostly to the judge looked at the papers on his desk.

“Probation is not an option,” Groner said when Kilpatrick was over. “That ship has sailed.”

Kilpatrick, the judge said, had shown a lack of candor, remorse, humility and openness in the course of the in-again, again outside the restitution hearing, which laboriously for about a year.

In a passage particularly scathing in his remarks, the judge said Kilpatrick and his family had settled on a $ 1 million on the outskirts of Dallas, continued to drive expensive cars, and had spent thousands so that Carlita Kilpatrick, wife of Mayor, you may undergo elective surgery.

Kilpatrick was money that should have applied before refund of your refund, Groner said. Kilpatrick had made it clear that it was important “to pacify his wife” to follow the orders of the court, said Groner.

Airport Security,Airport Security Raised:Flying somewhere in the next few days? Well you might want to show up at the airport a few hours earlier then planned.

Security is being raised at airports in both Canada and the United States following a Christmas Day attempt to blow up a flight landing in Detroit.

Air Canada and WestJet are advising passengers on flights heading to the US to expect delays due to added security screening. They say carry-on baggage will be limited to one item.

West Jet says that till at least Wednesday, all passengers must submit to a pat down search and their Carry on Luggage will be searched by hand.

The airliners recommend passengers show up at least 3 hours before their flight.
