Tragedy In Tucson, A hard-nation political rhetoric has become more than just talk – to the point of being dangerous? The attempted assassination of the Arizona Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, as she spoke with voters outside a grocery store in Tucson fueled a debate Sunday on whether the party spirit and strong language against the government that is now a U.S. policy have created a climate that makes violence against public servants more likely.

As a moderate Democrat who narrowly won reelection in a state torn by conflict over immigration policy, anxiety and mistrust more and more economical in the government, Giffords was familiar with more and more bad political rhetoric today. His downfall last opponent accused her of betraying her neighborhood. Meanwhile, targeting Republicans in the November elections picked up former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin site, posted a map with crosshairs on 20 Democrat-held districts in Congress Palin. Giffords has been one of them.

“You can not say they are only words, they have consequences,” said South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, a member of the Democratic leadership. He said he is concerned about the effect of words on “people who can not be clicking on all cylinders.”

He warned, “We need to take a look at what we are adrift in here.”

However, some Republican leaders and conservative activists rejected the idea that their language to the contours on issues like health care and immigration could rightly be linked to Saturday’s attack by a gunman who was in Tucson killed six people, including a federal judge and 9-year girl. Giffords, who was shot in the head, was in critical condition Sunday after surgery.

“This is a politicization of a terrible tragedy,” said Rebecca Mansour, an assistant to Palin. “We do not know (the suspect) mobile. It does not appear that he was motivated by political ideology. Madness is not an ideology. ”

She rejected criticism by liberal blogs suggesting that the congressional map Palin had helped to incite violence.

The map does not show itself in crosshairs Giffords a firearm, only his district, “said Mansour. “The language of” targeting a swing district “was used long before we used it. We have no idea if (the suspect Jared Lee Loughner) never seen this chart.”

The nation’s political anger is distressing to many Americans. Nearly three out of four voters polled in November called an election in the fall of the worst they had seen, according to a survey conducted by the Allegheny College Center. Nearly two-thirds called the negative tone of the wrong policy for democracy.

The shooting Tucson feel “as an important moment” to a nation battered by the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and the bitter midterm elections in November, said Kirk Hanson of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University in California.

“Americans try to cope with lower expectations. We will not be the country’s richest and most successful over the next 25 years,” he said. The shots strengthening “introspection that many in Washington and across the countries have been engaged in issues on the violent rhetoric was already asked before the first shots were fired Saturday. “
