Ron Paul’s Wife

March 8, 2012 by · Comments Off on Ron Paul’s Wife

Ron Paul’s Wife, Whether he wins or loses the Republican presidential nomination, Ron Paul is celebrating a milestone. He and his wife, Carol, have been married 55 years on Wednesday.

The Texas congressman ended a press conference by presenting his bride with a bouquet of flowers. The couple shared a kiss and hug.

The Pauls were in Las Vegas, where Ron Paul is campaigning ahead of Saturday’s caucuses.

Paul said he had let his wife sleep in late Wednesday morning and had ordered a room service breakfast to be delivered when she woke up.

The couple planned to go out to dinner and attend a performance of “Phantom of the Opera”.

The Pauls were married on Feb. 1, 1957, in Pittsburgh. They have five children and 18 grandchildren.

According to early results, Paul finished second behind Mitt Romney.
The career of Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), just peaked. The 76-year-old congressman never passed much legislation. He lived for this moment when he would bask in the glory of his maximum popularity. After performing surprising well in the Iowa caucuses, Paul has finished second in New Hampshire with 23 percent of the vote.

But it’s all downhill from here. The campaign will now head on to Southern states, where Republican voters are more hawkish and socially conservative than those in New Hampshire. The media will lose interest in Paul once Mitt Romney, who won both Iowa and New Hampshire, has the nomination presumptively wrapped up. Paul has said he won’t run for re-election to Congress this year, and he’s unlikely to run for president again in 2016. His maximum relevance was yesterday.

You’d never know it, though, from the demeanor of Paul and the majority of his supporters. At Paul’s election night celebration Tuesday night in Manchester, New Hampshire, he addressed a crowd that was younger, longer-haired and noticeably more boisterous than those drawn by his competitors at their recent campaign events. Where other candidates’ supporters have only cheers that reflect their candidate preference-“Mitt, Mitt, Mitt”-Paul’s have cheers for all his major platform planks. Whenever Paul hit the appropriate line in his speech, the crowd would break into a chant: “End the Fed!” “Bring them [our soldiers] home!” and “Ron Paul revolution, we support our Constitution!”

Paul proudly declared “a victory for the cause of liberty tonight,” and promised, “This effort will not go unnoticed.” But it probably will. In 2008 Paul performed surprisingly well in the primaries, but the Republican Party has hardly adopted his platform. Most of his opponents are as hawkish as George W. Bush. The only movement towards Paul’s position on one of his hobbyhorses is the mainstreaming of demonizing the Federal Reserve and fretting about the “soundness” of our money. But that’s only because there’s a Democrat in the White House and the Fed-which incidentally is still run by Bush appointee Ben Bernanke-taking action to boost the economy, could damage a Republican’s chances of winning the presidency. As soon as there is a Republican president, Republicans will rediscover the virtues of goosing the monetary supply when a recession hits.

New Hampshire Primary Results

New Hampshire Primary ResultsNew Hampshire Primary Results, The politically bloody fight for the Republican nomination to face President Barack Obama in the November presidential elections is a bit more clear today.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has established himself as the leader – the front runner. It is Romney’s to lose, yet this seems like a year when we need to expect that the front runner will have a hard time holding on to a lead. Romney still has at least one state to go before he can be declared as the clear Republican choice to face Obama.

There is a looming fight for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in the South Carolina primary on Saturday, January 21st. With only about 2% of the delegates chosen in Iowa and New Hampshire, this is looking like a three man race. Expect to see Texas Representative Ron Paul and former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich to take this fight past January and past South Carolina.

It feels like it is over, because Romney decimated the competition in New Hampshire. Romney ended up with about 39% of the vote with Texas Representative Ron Paul a distant second with 23%. Only former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman had a respectable showing with 17%. New Hampshire will go down as a strong victory for Romney.
This primary season is different from past primaries. Republicans have changed most of the early primary rules so that they have gone away from a “winner-take-all” system to proportional voting in the early primaries. This translates into a longer race. Romney would have the nomination locked down if all the primaries allowed the winner to take all of the delegates from every state and they used the old system.

Iowa ended up being a three way tie even thought the media declared it a big victory for Romney. Romney was declared the winner with 24.6% of the vote and 30,015 votes. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was second with 24.5% of the vote and 30,007 votes. A relatively close third was Texas Representative Ron Paul with 21.4% of the vote and 26, 219 votes. The irony is that Romney, Santorum and Paul all will receive the 6 delegates a piece to represent them at the Republican National Convention this summer.

New Hampshire is being declared as Romney’s big win, yet only 12 delegates were chosen. If you add up New Hampshire’s 12 and Iowa’s 28 delegates, you get a grand total of 40 delegates chosen so far for the convention. There are 2,286 delegates that will attend the convention, yet the media would lead you to believe that this race is almost over with only 2% of all the delegates chosen.

South Carolina shall be the last stand for many candidates. Jon Huntsman had a respectable showing in New Hampshire, yet he seems like he is on borrowed time in this campaign. His New Hampshire showing may be the high water mark for his campaign. He needs to repeat his respectable New Hampshire performance to take the fight past South Carolina.

Texas Governor Rick Perry has pushed all his chips into the pile in South Carolina. He has had some awful showings in Iowa and New Hampshire. Clearly, South Carolina is the last stand for Rick Perry in South Carolina. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was a handful of votes withing a huge Iowa victory, yet he could not transfer his momentum from Iowa into a New Hampshire strong showing.

The three remaining candidates taking the fight to South Carolina and beyond are Romney, Paul and Gingrich. Ron Paul has a strong following that has allowed him to post a 3rd place finish in Iowa and a 2nd place finish in New Hampshire. He believes that as other candidates drop out of the race, he can become the alternative to Mitt Romney.

Although Newt Gingrich has declared South Carolina his to win, I expect him to hang in the race in order to be the last man standing against Romney. He also is seeking to be the conservative alternative to the moderate Romney.

Many a candidates career will be made or broken in the first primary in the south. South Carolina may be the last stand for a few candidates, yet Romney is clearly seeking to beat down his opposition to end it.

After Iowa and New Hampshire many Republicans feel like the end is near, yet this year seems to have tossed the rules and playbook aside. Expect the next week and a half to be a very interesting fight to see if Republicans have settled for Romney or if they are willing to anoint yet another candidate to upset the Republican field.

CPAC 2011

CPAC 2011, An eyebrow awareness, unscripted moment at the conference of conservative political action (CPAC) this afternoon in Washingtion. It was the former Vice-President Dick Cheney, who was not on the official calendar showing to introduce his old friend and colleague from the Bush administration official Donald Rumsfeld, former Secretary of Defense. He was booed.

Andrew Breitbart said he was fed up with conservative social groups boycott CPAC on the inclusion of the gay Republican group GOProud and I wanted to do something. “I will be the most severe criticism of the gay activist left, which I fear more than al-Qaeda,” Breitbart said. “But these people do not exist in the two-party system, so you tell them they are not welcome in the big tent, I have a huge problem with that, and I will deliver my alt of 80’s, Depeche Mode, Cure, New Order ftish, and we’ll do a gay event a big ol ‘at CPAC. ”

Thus was born Big Party (a nod to the Big Government / Big Journalism / site Big Hollywood Breitbart Naming Convention), an invitation-only event, the 18th Street Lounge DC. He was co-sponsored by GOProud, including Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia took a few hours of rest from media requests to party in the short-sleeved shirts, and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, whose president Fred Smith donned a “Enjoy Capitalism” T-shirt under his blazer and the Poker Players Alliance, which became semi-controversial pillars CPAC *. This paid for a fully open bar and musical style of Sophie B. Hawkins.

A word about Sophie B. Hawkins. Michael Steele, who was chairman of the RNC until last month, came to the party and stayed for some time. Just before I went in an exchange seen by several people who described it to me, Steele met with Hawkins. She explained his political philosophy for him.

“I am not a conservative,” said Hawkins, “but I want to [expletive] Sarah Palin.”

Steele responded quickly. “Well, she is very attractive,” he said.

Depeche Mode was played and a fight nearly broke out between two people who were too drunk to explain why they fought on, some people are convinced that Dana Loesch, who wore leather pants, could not have taken Dana Loesch, because she wore leather pants. If it were more entertaining, Stephen Glass would have been.

More than 100 other organizations contribute in various ways. Human Events, the Foundation for America’s young, and the National Rifle Association were three co-sponsors the most prominent in recent years.

In another site, ExposeObama.com on February 7, 2011 posted Guest Writer Don Feder of GrassTopsUSA.com, one of my favorite conservative writers and have been since my first encounter with his column in the Boston Herald ago morethan 25 years. This last column is titled, “Gay, Grover, and false gods. Problems with CPAC 2011”

Again to quote Wikipedia, “CPAC was founded in 1973 by the American Conservative Union and Young Americans for Freedom. Over the years it has grown to thousands of participants each year.”

While America has become more conservative over the last two decades, CPAC has grown up with them including their flagship annual Conservative MPs
Event, speakers such as Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Pat Buchanan, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Tony Snow, to name a few.

But in recent few years a large influx of younger, more idealistic and more to reach people other Conservatives have adopted that are inconsistent with clear many older, more hard-core conservatives mainly on the theme of homosexuality.

While newcomers continue to push for greater recognition and acceptance of gay marriage and even to the point of lobbying for the repeal of the federal government “Definition of Marriage Act,” most of the old stand-bys the organization were themselves and remove their support of the Conference. It’s not just the GOP proud group of homosexuals and their not very popular with the objectives Conservatives, but as Feder said: “The problem with CPAC can be summarized in six words – gay jerk libertarianism Groverknee and Islamist connections. “

Kourtney Kardashian: Scott Is My Partner | USsPost.com

kourtney-kardashian-240Kourtney Kardashian: Scott Is My Partner | USsPost.com:According to People – With one smooch (and then another and another) in Vegas on Friday, Kourtney Kardashian and boyfriend Scott Disick put to rest rumors of the couple’s demise.

The pair have been under fire since reports surfaced that Disick, the father of Kardashian’s 9-week-old son, Mason, had been unfaithful. The rumors, Kardashian said, couldn’t be further from the truth.

When asked if she is laughing off the rumors, she told PEOPLE exclusively, “Yes, of course. You can’t take it too seriously.”

“Scott is my partner and we do everything together,” Kardashian said before entering Las Vegas’s Jet Nightclub.

And if they are in any kind of turmoil, you wouldn’t know it from their visit to the club, which was hosting a fashion show by Dash, the clothing store she owns with her sisters. After strolling in hand in hand and kissing for reporters, the couple headed to a VIP table. There, they were spotted smooching throughout the night while Disick continually touched Kardashian’s leg.

While in Vegas, Kardashian and Disick left Mason in the care of her family, but that didn’t stop the doting mother from keeping tabs on her son via her cell phone and picture messaging.

“I’m like, ‘What is he doing? What is he wearing? Send me pictures,’ ” she said. “I’ve only left him to go to dinner twice.”
