Tucker Carlson Michael Vick, (AP) – The Eagles are more concerned with the injured leg Michael Vick to another attack on its history of dog fighting.

Fox analyst Tucker Carlson gave the harshest criticism yet of the past Vick, the quarterback said of Philadelphia Eagles should have been executed “for his horrific crimes dogfighting.

Carlson was guest hosting for Sean Hannity show on Fox News Channel on Tuesday night when he made the remark. He led a panel discussion about President Barack Obama saluting the owner of the Eagles to give Vick a second chance after his release from prison. Vick has served 18 months in federal prison for running a dog fighting network.

Carlson said: “Michael Vick killed dogs and he did (it) of a ruthless and cruel manner.” He added, “I personally think he should be executed for that.”

Pamela Browner White, Eagles vice president of public affairs and government relations, said the team had no comment.

The Eagles did not practice on Wednesday to Vick, voted an NFC Pro Bowl start, and was unavailable for comment.

Neither Vick agent, Joel Segal, neither Fox News immediately returned telephone messages Wednesday.

This season, Vick made from a rarely used backup for NFC passing leader, the catalyst for a dynamic offense in Philadelphia. He was selected in a vote by leaguewide NFL players, coaches and fans to start for the NFC in the Pro Bowl in Honolulu Jan. 30 and led the Eagles to the No. 3 seed in the NFC.

He bruised a leg on the first play of the Eagles’ 24-14 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday night and could not play in the season finale Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Carlson, a conservative commentator, was angry because Obama said Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, he believes that people who paid for their crimes should be able to contribute to society again.

“But the idea that the President of the United States would be behind someone who killed the dog (is) kind of beyond the pale,” he said.

Vick, who saw his first battle as 7-years, has revived his career and is taking steps to rebuild its image. He spends time on his days off working with the Humane Society of the United States and talking to school groups and community about the cruelty of dogfighting. He said he’d never be able to completely forget the horrible acts committed and he has witnessed.

He made headlines recently when he said he really heart animals and wants to have a dog for a pet. Vick said that his children ask him every day for a dog and wants to adopt a family.

It will not happen quickly. Under the terms of his probation, which ends in May 2012, he can not own dogs for that period.

Carlson called Vick “creepy some football players too rich” and used his platform to take a dig at Obama.

“He went to jail for two years. I mean, whatever,” said Carlson. “I think the president should be quiet about it.”
