“I would never be without lipstick. I remember my mother would always tell me, ‘Put some lipstick on,'” she says in the issue of Allure. “Because you look well put-together. And I realize, all my Colombian friends are like that.”

Sofia’s Colombian roots play a big part when it comes to her beauty regimen, which began when she was a young teenager. “I’m Latin, so it’s very normal when you’re 14, 15, to put on some blush, some mascara, lip gloss,” she says.

“My mother always did her makeup, and I’d always watch her. It’s part of growing up for a Latin woman.”

Now Sofia is a world-famous Cover Girl, but she’s still obsessed with makeup. Her current fave? “Big lashes,” she raves. “And the good thing is you apply mascara and it lasts, it’s not like lipstick that you have to reapply during the day. And I can’t live without it, because my eyelashes are blonde.”
