Whitney Houston Funeral

February 13, 2012 by · Comments Off on Whitney Houston Funeral

Whitney Houston Funeral, Though her fans and family are still reeling from the shock of Whitney Houston’s sudden death, the wheels are already in motion to make sure the singer can rest, and quickly, in peace.

Funeral plans are reportedly already under way for the legendary Grammy winner, and a service is expected to take place later this week in Newark, N.J.

According to NBC New York, Houston’s body, which has reportedly already left the morgue and is being handed over to the care of her family, will be flown back East as early as tonight.
Though early speculation centered around Houston’s funeral taking place in the Atlanta-area church at which Whitney was active over the years, according to the network affiliate the 48-year-old will actually be buried by the Whigham Funeral Home in New Jersey.

The location choice, if indeed it proves true, is hardly surprising as Houston was born in Newark and got her start singing in the city’s New Hope Baptist Church, where her mother Cissy Houston served as musical director and cousin Dionne Warwick also sang.

So far, the family hasn’t commented on any funeral plans, though this morning the Los Angeles County Coroner said that arrangements were being made to hand over the body so that a memorial could take place.

Meanwhile, the Beverly Hills Police Department also held another press conference this morning to seek to clarify some of the erroneous reports about Whitney’s death.

Lt. Mark Rosen ran through the facts of the case so far, confirming she was found underwater and unconscious in the hotel bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton at roughly 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

She was found and pulled from the tub by a member of her staff; no foul play is suspected and there were no signs of trauma on the singer’s body.

Jennifer Hudson Tribute To Whitney Houston, Jennifer Hudson honored the late Whitney Houston at the 2012 Grammy Awards Sunday with a rendition of Houston’s famous “I Will Always Love You.”

Hudson sang the touching song, wearing a subtle black gown as photos of late musicians were lit above her.

Houston died Saturday, one day shy of the famous awards show. The Grammy Awards crew scrambled to get a impromptu tribute together to honor one of the most famous names in music during the most famous nights in music.

Hudson seemed like the perfect fit for the tribute. The “American Idol” star like Houston, has a notably strong voice, though Hudson didn’t use it to outdo the late singer’s famous song. Instead, Hudson sang a softer version of the “The Bodyguard” song.

The song was introduced to the world thanks to Dolly Parton but in 1992, Houston recorded the song for “The Bodyguard” soundtrack and the song became famous. Houston’s version was a massive success, appearing at 68 on Billboard’s “Greatest Songs of All Time” and spent 14 weeks at the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

“Whitney, we love you,” said Hudson to a standing ovation.

Saturday, Houston was found submerged in her bathtub while preparing for a pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead around 3:55 p.m.

Her official cause of death won’t be released until toxicology reports come back. The results should be back in around six to eight weeks.

Houston’s 18-year-old daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown, Bobbi took the news the hardest. She was denied access to see her her mother in the hotel room by police and the following day, was hospitalized with reported anxiety.

Ex-husband Bobby Brown, who was married to Houston for 15 years until they divorced in 2007, was performing in Southaven, Miss. Saturday night when Houston died. He appeared visibly shaken and told the crowd “I would like to say, I love you, Whitney. The hardesnt thing for me to do is come on this stage.”

Jennifer Hudson Lost 80 Pounds, For Jennifer Hudson, weight loss is the gift that keeps on giving. In fact, the 30-year-old singer, actress, and Weight Watchers spokesperson lost 80 pounds after the birth of her son in 2009, but over two years later, she is still adjusting to life as a smaller woman.

Hudson, whose svelte self graces the latest Good Housekeeping magazine cover, is making the rounds on her book tour for her weight loss memoir, I Got This. According to Just Jared, the star’s Good Housekeepingcover look features Hudson in a sleek tangerine bandage dress, showing off those enviable curves. She also wears her hair long, with some wave and plenty of volume, and a touch of coral-colored lipstick. (Want a similar lip look? Her weight struggles went on nearly all her life before she got to her current size. At 19, according to Access Atlanta, Hudson’s weight soared to 256 pounds. She slimmed down in 2005, getting to a size 10, but then was asked to gain 20 pounds to play the role of Effie in Dreamgirls. Then weight loss and body image issues slapped Jennifer Hudson in the face again: In 2008, her record label photoshopped an image of her on her first album cover so she looked much thinner.

Though happier in her healthier body, the star admits her changes in size have caused something of an identity crisis. She explained in Cinema Blend:”Because it’s a new body, I’m trying to find out, how do I want to be perceived? Who is this new me? I knew how to be the big girl, but now I have to find out how to be this girl.”

Yolanda Adams

Yolanda Adams, Yolanda Adams joins a group of girls tonight, famous for the Grammy Awards for the tribute to Aretha Franklin’s opening. They sang songs like “You Make Me Feel” and gave quite a show. Yolanda, a renowned gospel singer, has added a few chops to the vocal performance, which also starred Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, and Florence Welch.
The 53rd Grammy Awards ceremony began with a tribute to Aretha Franklin, who watched at home due to recent health problems. The tribute to the Queen of Soul featuring Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams, and Martina McBride songs mark interpretation impressive collection of Franklin soul. No wonder the voice Aguilera powerhouse was here, and just for the record, she did not botch a word.

Christina Aguilera has been a tough week, first botching the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Dallas, and now falling on stage during the tribute to Aretha Franklin Grammy Awards last night. It succeeded thanks to the performance without soiling her words, but when leaving the scene took a fall.

It seems to be well, however, and when all was said and done, the tribute was simply incredible. Jennifer Hudson joins Aguilera, Martina McBride, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams for the first performance of the night, and in my opinion, the best performance of the evening.

Grammy performance can be a strange mix of singers from different genres to take into medleys. Clearly the voice of Jennifer Hudson is suited to this music, like Yolanda Adams. McBride, a superstar of country music, is perhaps a bit out of place to sing soul music, but held her own with “divas.”

What do you think the Grammy Awards 2011 with the honor Aretha Franklin? Yolanda Adams was grooving all the time and does it justice major song. After checking these pictures and the full video,
