Anti-Obama Sign Fort Myers

Anti-Obama Sign Fort Myers, An anti-Obama Care ad at a Virginia Metro station has drawn the ire of a Congressman. Rep. Jim Moran wrote Metro a letter asking the transit agency to remove an ad attacking the health reform law and telling President Barack Obama to “Go to hell.”

The ad is for a movie called “Sick & Sicker.”

“This advertisement is inappropriate, disrespectful of the president and should be removed immediately,” Moran said. “The families with children and thousands of tourists who take Metro everyday should not be subjected to such garbage. I understand WMATA vets these advertisements before allowing them to go up, but it seems someone wasn’t doing their job when this ad was approved.”

The ad is protected by the Constitution, Metro said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

“WMATA advertising has been ruled by the courts as a public forum protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution, and we may not decline ads based on their political content. WMATA does not endorse the advertising on our system, and ads do not reflect the position of the Authority.”

In his letter to Metro GM and CEO Richard Sarles, Moran says he accepts political ads should be allowed in the Metro system but says this ad shouldn’t be acceptable under “minimum standards of decency.”

The ad that caught Moran’s attention is at the end of a Clarendon Metro Station platform in Arlington.

Rachel Stieringer Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, A Florida mom who thought it would be funny to post a picture of her baby with a bong on her Facebook page has been arrested.

Rachel Stieringer, 19, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when someone called Florida’s abuse hotline after seeing the picture online.

Clay County sheriff’s deputies say Stieringer turned herself in and was released on $502 bond.

She told investigators the picture was a joke for a friend.

A spokesman for the Department of Children and Families said that while it appeared the bong was filled with smoke, drug tests on the baby came back negative.

Rachel Stieringer, Keystone Heights, Florida (The Weekly Vice) – Rachel Stieringer, a 19-year-old Florida woman who’s photo of her baby with a bong ignited a firestorm of outrage several weeks ago, has now been arrested.

According to the Florida State Attorney’s Office, Florida DCF launched an investigation after Stieringer allegedly posted a photograph on her Facebook page which depicts her 11-month-old son holding a bong up to his mouth.

The photograph was quickly picked up by Florida media before it eventually spread across the country and even to other countries.

The child’s mother, Rachel Stieringer tried to counter the outrage by posting a message on her Facebook page that stated “If u look at the picture, u can see that there is no bowl in the TABACCO (sic) pipe. And i took a pic to show one (expletive) person and it was a mistake. I would never let him get high.

She went on to state “Do you realize how serious this is? I can go to jail, and he can be taken away from me. Why would you do something so (expletive) stupid? I’m so nice to everyone. Why would you do this to me?”

Strieringer reportedly admitted to detectives that she kept the bong in her bedroom. When the child grabbed the bong and put it up to his mouth, she allegedly snapped a photo because she “thought it was funny,” according to the detective.

Prosecutors say charges of child abuse would not apply in this case because a drug test given to the child came back negative. Stieringer, however, tested positive for traces of marijuana.

Stieringer was booked into the Clay County Jail on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Her mother, Sharalyn Harris says her daughter is now attending parenting classes and drug counseling.
