Elton John Pepsi Commercial, To many of his fans he is the king of rock and roll. But Elton John is decisively knocked off his throne by X Factor upstart Melanie Amaro in an hilarious new ad set to premiere at the Super Bowl. The Crocodile Rock star stars in the new Pepsi commercial as a hard-to-please feudal king who has no hesitation in sending entertainers to the dungeon.

The 64-year-old cackles, ‘No Pepsi for you’, as he pulls a lever on his seat of power to send an unfortunate jester to his seeming doom

However the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road favourite bids au revoir to his kingship after mocking Melanie when she decides to sing for her supper.

After sarcastically asking the 19-year-old, ‘And what do you do?’ She replies, ‘I sing,’ launching into a barnstorming version of Aretha Franklin hit respect.

Elton sheepishly makes his way down to offer her a can of the cola, but she grabs his golden goblet, hits his throne lever and he disappears from sight.

Of course his court are overjoyed at his sudden enforced abdication, with Melanie promising them all free drinks.

Elton meanwhile ends up stuck in a dungeon with former Public Enemy legend Flavor Flav.

The pair have spoken with great affection about the fun they had while recording the loosely Elizabethan-styled advert, which is titled King’s Court.

The jolly father-of-one said: ‘Pepsi wanted to make me king for a day on Super Bowl Sunday.

‘How could I possibly pass that up?’

Meanwhile Melanie remained humble, saying: ‘Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be starring in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial, following in the footsteps of some of music’s biggest legends.

‘Winning The X Factor has changed my life.’

However Elton also caused controversy when he used promotional interviews as a chance to land a knockout blow against his old foe Madonna, who is performing the sporting event’s half-time show.
