Eliza Dushku, Eliza Dushku has big plans going on behind the camera. She’s working on a movie with her brother Nate about Boston, and natch, Eliza will star and, we hope, film it here. But Dushku also recently secured James Franco to star in her upcoming film adaptation of artist Robert Mapplethorpe’s life. Dushku’s Boston Girl Productions acquired the rights to the film from the Mapplethorpe estate in 2009. ArtInfo.com reports the film will follow the photographer’s life from his rise in the 1970s until his death at age 42 in 1989 from AIDS. So far, there’s no mention of Dushku playing Mapplethorpe’s longtime partner, Patti Smith, but do stay tuned.

Bring It On

Bring It On, I recently won a copy of Bring It On, Baby: How to get pregnant Dudelike by Zoe Williams. If you are desperate usual kittens and roses accounts of pregnancy after this book could be just for you. In the usual direct way, writes his regular Guardian column, Anti-natal, Williams gives the low down on the ups (few) and downs (hilarious) of their pregnancies. Topics include the campaign against alcohol withdrawal in pregnancy tips, how even though he has been sacked twice she thinks no one is pregnant by accident and (my favorite) the many ways that your partner bother when she was pregnant. Well worth reading for fun alone.
