Dancing With The Stars Results

Dancing With The Stars Results, Longtime fans of “Dancing With the Stars” are forgiven if they feel disoriented after watching the first week of Season 14 of “Dancing With the Stars.” No drama, no train wrecks, and dance routines that ranged from admirable to entertaining to inspirational, to say nothing of flat out hot.

Critics may have complained about the lack of star power or stunt casting among the twelve contestants this season ABC’s hit dance competition show, but they were not lacking for skills on the dance floor. It looked more like week six or seven, and the scores reflected it.

Contestants on “Dancing With the Stars” are usually relieved and grateful just to get through their first week routine. Last night, several stars were just shy of getting perfect scores of 10. There was no score lower than six given all night, and the judges even busted out a few nines, which is unprecedented. The scores ranged from lows of 20 for Gavin DeGraw and Melissa Gilbert, to a high of 26 for Katherine Jenkins and Jaleel White.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli said it was the highest level quality in a season debut in the history of the show. Critics and fans gushed across Twitter, Facebook, and fan blogs. Who knew a lineup of former TV icons, several singers, a handful of athletes, a Disney star and a Motown legend would light up the dance floor?

So how did our predictions roll out in the first week? Let’s check the scoreboard.

The Also-Rans: Jack Wagner performed a decent fox trot which benefited from being one of the first dances of the evening. It was pleasant but overscored at 23. No one enjoyed herself more on the dance floor than Sherri Shepherd, host of “The View.” She exceeded expectations, but a good attitude will only take her so far. Gladys Knight was the revelation of the night. She looked great, moved well and showed good rhythm and fluidity. Let’s all keep in mind she is the oldest contestant at age 67. Her cha cha routine brought the audience to its feet, and she’ll last a few weeks no doubt.

Gavin deGraw was one of the few contestants that seemed like a Week One contestant. He gave it a good try but he was a little stiff and tentative. Unless he makes significant improvement next week, he’ll be the one to go.

The Jury is Out: So far, the evidence shows some promise in this group of contestants. Tennis pro Martina Navratilova has never looked better. She admitted the biggest challenge for her was wearing heels, and that she hadn’t worn a dress in 20 years. Her partner Tony Dovoloni did well by her, but this is very unfamiliar territory for her. Let’s hope her work ethic will help her succeed. She scored a 24 but it was far too generous.

Melissa Gilbert gave it her all, and she looked superb in a fringed black catsuit. Women across America applauded her nerve, and in any other season she’d be near this top. This year, her score of 20 tied her for the lowest score. But she should be safe unless she really blows it next week.

Mark Ballas and partner Katherine Jenkins made their work pay off. After the first week of competition, they are tied for first place. Photo: ABC

Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins performed a beautiful routine with Mark Ballas. Was it worth being tied for the highest score of the night? Jenkins was fortunate to draw this style of dance which suited her. We’ll see if she can keep up with the hip swiveling latin dances.

The final member of this group ended the show with a flourish, and showed the style we thought might be hiding behind his childhood geek image. Jaleel White danced a stylish fox trot, and seemed completely at ease and confident with partner Kym Johnson. He served notice that he’s a serious threat, and it seems the jury has rendered his verdict: White is a serious threat to steal that Mirror Ball Trophy.

The Contenders, Not Pretenders: The three men in this group are overloaded with charisma and confidence, essential elements for long-term success on this show. Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver held nothing back in his cha cha. Disney star Roshon Fegan won a lot of new fans after delivering a cha cha in the style of the late Michael Jackson. He was utterly charming and a real breath of fresh air. Ah, youth.

William Levy and Cheryl Burke lit up the audience in the first week of competition on Dancing with the Stars. Photo: ABC

William Levy drew the perfect partner in Cheryl Burke and the perfect song, the Pitbull and Chris Brown collaboration “International Love.” Song choice can make a big difference and it earned him a higher score than he probably deserved. Oh, and it didn’t hurt that the Cuban-born telenovela actor is as smokin’ hot as advertised. He’s going nowhere.

In any other season, Maria Menounos would be at the top of the leaderboard with a perfectly fine cha cha. But she danced first, which is never easy. By comparison, she suffered. She’s got room for improvement, and working with Derek Hough she’s not in danger and will be given room to develop her skills and confidence.

Bear in mind the highest score the contestants can receive is 30, and they have three months of dancing ahead. The judges don’t have much more to give. Will we get to the point that every routine is getting a 28, 29, or a perfect 30? If so, audience votes are going to count more than ever this season in determining who goes how and who stays in the competition. Without seeing improvement and surprises, will the audience get a little bored?

The stars will dance again Monday, and their scores from the first week and next week will be combined. One star will be voted off March 27.

Elimination in the competition results from a combination of judges’ scores and audience votes. The celebrity with the lowest combined scores is sent home, until three stars remain. They and their partners compete for the championship.

Tonight’s Scores:

Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff: 20

Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 20

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd: 21

Maria Menounos and Derek Hough: 21

Roshon Fagan and Chelsie Hightower: 23

Gladys Knight and Tristan McManus: 23

Sherri Shepherd and Val Chmerkovskiy: 23

Jack Wagner and Anna Trebunskaya: 23

William Levy and Cheryl Burke: 24

Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani: 24

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas: 26

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson: 26

“Dancing With the Stars” returns next Monday night, March 17, 8 p.m. Eastern/Pacific Time, and airs on Monday and Tuesday nights on the ABC Television Network.

Dancing With The Stars

November 9, 2011 by · Comments Off on Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With The Stars, Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the final five contestants battled it out for four semi-final spots. So who went home? Let’s find out:

The verdict: No surprises tonight, Nancy’s grace period was over. The writing was on the wall for the former prosecutor after Judge Len Goodman told her on Monday, “It’s midnight. It’s time to go home.” Nancy accepted defeat far more graciously than she accepted the Amanda Knox verdict, giving most of the credit for her admirable run to first-time pro Tristan McManus and thanking her rabid fan base who stuck by her, wardrobe malfunction and all.

Most hackneyed segment: Former pro-football wide receiver Jerry Rice, ESPN’s Kenny Mayne, and Judge Len Goodman were conscripted into an ersatz Sportscenter called DanceCenter. As commentators on the show, they made some vaguely homophobic cracks about serviceman J.R. “Volcano Crotch” Martinez’s interest in musical theater and showed a mocked up reel of Ricki Lake outtakes edited to make it seem like she was making lewd jokes to Derek Hough. Real knee slappers there, guys.

Most anti-Irish moment: In a very juvenile attempt at levity, Rice, Mayne and Goodman asked pro Tristan McManus to say the word “third” over and over. Why? Because with his thick brogue it kinda sounds like he’s saying “turd.” Get it?

Least suspenseful moment: For some reason the producers thought they could build drama by pitting consistent frontrunner Ricki Lake against low scorer Nancy Grace and utilizing some falsely ominous long pauses.

Most eye-popping moment: In yet another of the seemingly endless DanceCenter installments, Jerry Rice, Kenny Mayne, and Len Goodman turned their not-quite gimlet eyes on Hope Solo. Having little show material to go from, they turned to one of Hope’s extracurricular activities: A nude photo shoot she did for ESPN The Magazine. If that wasn’t eyebrow-raising enough, they then had Len strip to recreate it. If it’s not in his contract, I’m putting it in mine: Len must be clothed at all times.

Best dance: Cirque du Soleil moved past their circus roots and squarely into the DWTS arena with a Michael Jackson-themed dance routine. The soundtrack moved from “Smooth Criminal” to “Billie Jean” as the group wowed with their trademark tumbling and twirling. Hope the DWTS troupe has more neon lightsabers and glitter pants, because they have some big shoes to fill.

Best musical performances: You can’t say this show doesn’t have something for everyone. Last week it was teen singing sensation Justin Bieber backed by Boyz II Men. Now it’s grandpa time, with crooner Andrea Bocelli singing “More” as the troupe twirled across the dance floor in old-timey top hats and tails. And then, just to provide the most extreme counterpoint, Flo-Rida performed his hit “Club Can’t Handle Me” backed by the troupe wearing spangled hot-pants. Like we said—something for everyone.

Dancing With The Stars 2011

Dancing With The Stars 2011Dancing With The Stars 2011, It was, like, totally 80 weeks Monday night on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars”.  The show started with the Bangles perform rapid mixing of the “Eternal Flame” and “Walk Like an Egyptian” before the other celebrities began their performances. Some of the stars took their scores for the season, others (such as Ricki Lake steady scoring leader) fell slightly in the rankings.

Here’s how they were to all:

Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
The athlete was given the tango this week, and the couple danced to Bon Jovi “Livin ‘on a Prayer”. The judges found the routine of being strong, sexy and powerful. “The tango is about action and reaction :…. Hope You Were very slender body too slender, somehow controlling Maks Having said that, I like the aggression and attack you put into it,” Judge Len Goodman said. 24/30

Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya
Kressley said this week has been stressful. He assumed the jive and said he could not believe I was still in the game. They danced a routine quite colorful and friendly entertainer Wham! “S” Wake Me Up Before you Go-Go “and the judges thought it was funny, crazy, but lacked technique.” This is a great achievement in the crazy, “said Bruno Tonioli. 19/30

Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus
After landing a point on the bottom, the TV host took the rumba to a track of Spandau Ballet. The judges thought it was simple but very effective. However, they wanted more and pointed unstable times. “It was appropriate. But I want to see the true passion when you’re dancing. I do not necessarily feel a connection to the dance. It feels a little on the gray side for me. And I think you’re a really good dancer. I just want to see more, “said Carrie Ann Inaba. 22/30

J. R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff
The war hero and actor danced the samba to Gloria Estefan “Conga” and it took a while for the audience to simmer down. Similarly, the judges found the routine that is warm and loved his performance. “Way to go, Joseph! Did not think it was out and doing something like that, because usually the kids and samba not working together. But in the future, if someone tells me how to be a type of dance the dance, which I to say just take a look at JR “said Goodman. 28/30

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke
The star took the rumba Lionel Richie, and the judges thought their dance of “Hello” was a performance very sentimental and romantic. “We’re starting to see the heartthrob Rob. For the first time I see Cheryl as a partner, not behind it, but becoming part of a unit,” said Tonioli. 25/30

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer
The duo danced the samba to Kool and the Gang “Get Down on it”, and unlike other weeks, the judges thought the performance was a step in the right direction. Bono was free of injuries and the dance floor like never before. “It’s nice to see you going strong last week. That was the latest dance I think I’ve seen him do. Shake it, do not break! Good job,” said Inaba. Please difficult to judge Goodman agreed, saying: “I think it was a heroic effort. I think I have an idea of ??the dance. What I liked is that really came out and gave him a chance.” 21/30

Kym Johnson and David Arquette
Arquette was assigned the tango, and he and his partner out to “Tainted Love”. He was looking to jump from the middle of the pack and get a higher score from the judges. (It worked, got his highest score in the competition so far.) Judges were unanimous in their celebration of Arquette, despite Inaba and Goodman had argued about whether to work on their musicianship. “We are halfway now. From now on, you have to show up or shut up. You have shown, and it was fantastic!” Goodman said. 25/30

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough
This duo has dominated the league table this season, and Monday night, danced the fox-trot with Phil Collins and Philip Bailey hit “Easy Lover”. They took a 80-dance spin on the dance-like, and the judges thought it should have been avoided by Roger Rabbit dance in the beginning of your routine. 80 They were cheesy dance movement took off his routine. “You did the first time Roger Rabbit, which were far away. But when two of dance, what I like is so surprising that the team work. It is as if you were a person,” said Inaba. 24/30

Dancing With The Stars’

Dancing With The Stars'Dancing With The Stars’, Chynna Phillips forgot her routine on Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars” and on Tuesday was fired from the series.

“I’m disappointed,” he said after learning he’d be leaving. “I’m sad, but I have to take responsibility. I messed up.”

Phillips lost her place in the center of her tango with partner Tony Dovolani professional and was not able to recover.

“I blank,” she said. “I knew the routine. I just blank.”

Judges gave the couple of 21 points over 30. Judges scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which participant is eliminated each week.

“I am very grateful to have been in the series and had the opportunity,” Phillips said Tuesday. “Thanks to everyone who voted for me.”

Her husband, Billy Baldwin, who has her encouragement from the dance hall every week, said his wife “came out of the door (on Monday) and was a bad week for the first time in four weeks.”

Phillips was among the lowest scores on Monday. Carson Kressley, who was in last place with 20 points and Chaz Bono, who tied for Phillips, were saved by the votes viewers to dance in a week.

Also returning next week to dance to 1980 blows Ricki Lake, JR Martinez, David Arquette, Nancy Grace, Rob Kardashian and Hope Solo.

Phillips is the fourth contestant eliminated so far in this season of the hit ABC series. World Peace Metta (formerly known as Ron Artest), and Kristin Cavallari Elisabetta Canalis were ousted in previous episodes.

The results also show performances Tuesday characterized by Raphael Saadiq and Susan Boyle, and twice the return of “Dancing” champ Julianne Hough. The professional dancer turned actress showed some of the moves that will be rock when the remake of “Footloose” opens Friday. Hough and co-star Kenny Wormald dancing “I Need a Hero”

Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With The StarsDancing With The Stars, Tonight on “Dancing With the Stars” is the Night of Grim Tales, in which celebrity dancers can tell a story from the most memorable years of their lives. And if you do not believe all the celebrities do not share a tragic story … so, you may not see too much reality television.

“You might want to have a box of tissues ready,” says Charvet Brooke Burke, Tom Bergeron and adds that the judge Carrie Ann will need two boxes.

Dance: Fox trot to Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon”

Rob’s most memorable years: 2009, when 15 years old, lost his father Rob (Rob Kardashian Sr., known to most of the world as a lawyer in the trial of OJ Simpson). Cheryl shows Rob a tattoo of Robert, father, and received with tears, as he says his father was his best friend. He decides to dance the fox trot to the music of Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to Moon” because it was one of the favorite songs of his father.

Rob sliding around the dance floor and is much more coordinated than it has in the last couple of weeks. The audience applauds wildly, including a table full of family members Kardashian. Len kicks things with a little play on words. “You just put the dash in Kardashian,” which it springs. “I hope your father is looking down and saying:” Rob did well, because I did. ”

More at the Celebriquarium, Brooke ask the right questions to try to mourn someone (“You spend this show to his father How do you feel there in his honor with this dance.?”) Rating: 8, 8, 8 for A total of 24 points.

Dance: Rumba Wilson Phillips “Hold On”

Chynna memorable Years: 1990, singing the first single from the group Wilson Phillips “Hold On” was released. Chynna describes the suffering of depression and anxiety after a sense of abandonment from her father, and she relied on drugs and alcohol. But one day decided to change his life, went to therapy, and met her future husband, Billy Baldwin.

Tony comes with a routine that symbolizes Chynna escape your problems, and is also a new future. This involves the actual execution, and Chynna begins to get confused about all the movements, and into the corner to have a mini-nervous attack. Luckily, she meets for the current routine, and gracefully prancing through the rumba, without missing a beat.

Bruno says he knew he could do. He also knew it was a siren blazing, so clearly knows more than the other judges. Carrie Ann has a new appreciation of “Hold On”, and Len was equally pleased. Scores: 8, 9, 9 for a total of 26 points, the first nine of the season.

Dance: Rumba Sonny Bono “laugh at me”

Chaz memorable years: “This year, because now I’m happier than I have been,” says Chaz, but does not specify why. (? A documentary about Oprah Winfrey Network) is chosen a song from his father, because Chaz says he feels like his own personal theme song: “If you have a problem with me is their problem, not mine. ” Chaz doesn ‘t go into details, but we do see Lacey finally begins to feel frustrated with the fact that Chaz can not really dance.

Chaz improved slightly last week but is still dancing as the two are injured legs (which they are.) Carrie Ann says he is impressed that Chaz presented, because it only takes courage. That’s not a good sign. Indeed, Carrie Ann thought the dance was particularly sad this week. Len, meanwhile, says it’s the best dance that Chaz has done, that could be known as damning with faint praise. (“I love the positivity, but what you did with Len?” Tom Bergeron asks, on behalf of us all.) Somehow, Carrie Ann and Len both give a score of 6, like Bruno. Ratings: 6, 6, 6 for a total of 18 points.

Dance: Samba de Beyoncé “Crazy in Love”

Cristina memorable Years: 2005, when he graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles, choosing whether to go to college or pursue a career as a reality star (and I think we all saw how that turned out). Cristina panics about the samba, trying to channel your inner Beyonce.

Dance is a lot of bangs and a lot of shaking and hair twirling are supposed to look sassy, ??but ends up looking like Kristin frantically trying to save time, remembers his next move. Len is not a fan of hair twirling or “Beyonce things,” although only 20 percent of the dance, Len loved the other 80 percent. As Bruno says a lot of nonsense about judges Kristin lead to madness, the camera switches to … Kristin ex-boyfriend, Chicago Bears quarterback, Jay Cutler. Why not do an interview in the Celebriquarium? Scores: 8, 8, 8 out of 24 points.

Dance: Tango for No Doubt “It’s my life”

Carson’s most memorable years: 2003, when “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” premiered on Bravo, and became famous. Hurra, fame! However, Carson manages to pull the heartstrings that explains how it was the first time I felt I was able to be himself, having grown up with the feeling that I could not tell anyone that he was gay. Now he feels he can really be himself, he also has to accept the fact that he is not a very talented dancer. “The good thing is that you can only get better,” Anna tells him carefully, and to rehearse their tango to make Carson the “best” dancer of the week.

It works! Carson seems to have memorized the steps and makes no chicken dances. “It was great!” Bruno roars. Carrie Ann loved it and she has brought drama and entertainment and sexy and fun and many other important factors, including the technique. Len, however, is this: “You put the ‘child’ in the extravagant”, adding that Carson had the right attitude and technique. Scores: 8, 7, 8, for a total of 23 points.

Dance: Rumba Tim McGraw “If you’re reading this.”

JR memorable years: When I was a soldier in Iraq and was severely injured by a landmine. He remembers seeing his scarred face for the first time, suffering from depression and anger, and thinking it would have been better not to have survived. It’s a brutal story, accompanied by a tragic song: “If you’re reading this,” Tim McGraw, who narrates a letter that a soldier wrote to his family before he died. JR dedicated performance as a tribute to the men and women who do not home from the war.

Karina JR and fly through the rumba, and both break into tears at the end because the public gives them a standing ovation. Carrie Ann also moved to tears. Len dare subject to make a critical remark and says he thinks might have been more musical (winning quite a few boos Len), but said that overall, fell in love with acting. More tears. Ratings: 9, 8, 9 for a total of 26 points.

Dance: Waltz of “Moon River”

Nancy’s most memorable years: We have no exact date, but we have a horrible story of Nancy almost died during pregnancy of her twins, Lucy and David John. Now the twins three years, and also get some lovely home movies of family – you almost forget the commentator Nancy HLN fear. “Moon River” was the first lullaby Nancy never sang the twins, so tonight will be dancing to the song.

Wrapped in a blue dress that is not about giving her the same outfit widespread problems last week, Nancy moves fairly stiff, and carefully going through the motions of the arm. The judges that she showed much emotion, and Carrie Ann called the performance of a “lullaby of live action,” you just know Disney will start to develop before the episode is over. The scores: 7, 7, 7 for a total of 21 points.

Dance: Cha cha cha Enrique Iglesias “Tonight (I’m Lovin ‘You)”

Dance: Cha cha cha Enrique Iglesias “Tonight (I’m Lovin ‘You)”

Memorable Years of Hope: 2011, when the women’s soccer team U.S. went to the World Cup … although they did not win. Hope talks about the crushing disappointment, but realized winning is not everything. “Hope you have a problem with being sexy,” Maks said with some condescension, as hope begins a bit awkward in rehearsals. It is this problem in a backless black dress with lots of tulle. In addition to the end of the performance when he hits his hand against a light in the ground, holds the ball too.

Carrie Ann tells Esperanza that she needs more femininity in their movements and not as much strength in their walk. Len is very happy and said it was a bit provocative for your taste, but he thought it was his best dance so far. Bruno is indeed accelerated and invokes the hope of a panther (in a good way). In Celebriquarium, Esperanza complains how difficult it is to be sexy. Scores: 8, 8, 8 out of 24 points.

Dance: Rumba five steps of “Ooh Child”

Most memorable years of David: This past year, when his marriage to Courteney Cox collapsed. But David said his daughter, Coco, is making it through everything, so dedicated to dance with her.

We have our time right Adorable Coco week before David begins the dance, as in the audience with the mother of Courtney. The performance begins with a simulated storm, and a shirt David slips on the floor, but without much real skill.

The judges think it’s a nice return, and Len is satisfied with the combination of movement and emotion. Carrie Ann called magic, which might not be enough to make David out of the bottom most votes this week. Scores: 8, 8, 8 out of 24 points.
