Uga Football Schedule 2010

October 23, 2010 by · Comments Off on Uga Football Schedule 2010

Uga Football Schedule 2010, Georgia Bulldogs on the road this weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats. Georgia is 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, but are 0-3 on the road, could this week on the road to a “W” column?

Kentucky (4-3, 1-3 SEC) is coming off a surprising 31-28 victory over South Carolina last week, so you should be very pleased to host the Bulldogs, who were defeated by the Gamecocks in early this year, 17-6. However, Georgia is on a roll, too, have put a couple of SEC games high score on the “W” column in the last two weeks, beating Tennessee Vanderbilt 41-14 and 43-0. Both computers must be in a very well mentally, and be ready to go out and prove they can keep the “W” on the fly.

With some unexpected surprises in the SEC, the Bulldogs are still having a chance, at least on paper, to win the SEC East, however unlikely it is. However, a win against Kentucky this weekend is vital to maintain the possibility. Therefore, this weekend is a kind of test for UGA head coach Mark Richt, so hope that the ship is turning around in Athens is concerned.

Ealey Washaun gained 123 yards last week and held onto the ball during the game, and it is important to maintain that momentum, very possible and probable, because the run defense of Kentucky is in the bottom, ahead of Vandy only in the SEC. Aaron Murray has shown remarkable poise as the team leader and the first year of the SEC of the week (for the second consecutive week, actually) has the opportunity to lead the team forward again and it will be interesting to see how up the challenge. It seems that in the last two or three weeks, Coach Richt has taken the first year of red shirt a little breathing room, (not having a collapse if, for example, Murray runs the ball to score a TD) and he has responded well (although, yes, he has to learn to go down at the right time when it is running, do not try to fight for yards against players with 50 pounds on him, he’s going to hurt that way and that does not help him or the team, Richt’s concerns in this area are absolutely valid and justified.)

One of the major focuses – the largest, actually – to defend Todd Grantham this week will be in Kentucky Randall Cobb, who is so versatile, you can do everything from running and catching the ball, launch and return. The list of Kentucky Wildcats are the young people as a “receiver / quarterback, and he has actually thrown five touchdown passes in the last two-plus seasons at Kentucky, as well as 20 rushing, 11 receiving and two in kickoff returns. So, yes, stop the “WildCobb ‘offense will be key to the UGA defense if Georgia is to get his first win of 2010 this weekend.

V. Georgia Kentucky is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 23, in Lexington, KY. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm (ET). Fans can watch the game on CSS.

Clemson Football, Clemson, SC – (AP) Kyle Parker threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns in four possessions to lead Clemson to a 58-21 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday.

After five offensive plays, the Tigers (2-0) led 14-0 against Presbyterian undersized.

In the second quarter, Daniel Barnes, a broker who did not play last week 35-10 romps over North Texas was to assume the load on a touchdown drive that ended with him scoring on a shovel pass 11 yards.

Clemson is now 24-0 against Football Championship Subdivision opponents, all victories by 10 points or more. Presbyterian (0-2) is on a streak of 16 games.

Now the schedule gets tougher for the Tigers, who travel to 21 ยบ Auburn next weekend.

The owners did not play much time for Clemson, who played 57 players for the end of the first quarter.

Parker was out for the end of the first quarter, although it took the start of the second half. But the coaches took him out for good after that threw three incompletions and took a hard hit. Tigers runners up, Jamie Harper and Andre Ellington, was only six developed between them.

Backup quarterback Tajh Boyd went 4-for-9 for 87 yards and two touchdowns, including a score by land. Boyd may have had the game’s success, his helmet flying almost 20 yards before Matthew Roper went down after throwing his one interception.

Barnes, a senior who has not won a letter, ran for 79 yards on 11 carries, while the second stringer Roderick McDowell led the Tigers with 85 yards.

The highlights of the blue hose did not happen until the game got out of hand. Miley Brandon Michael Ruff found wide open for a 4-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, making the couple of hundreds of fans dressed in blue to go wild and reducing the lead to 52-7 Clemson. Ruff also reached a 20-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter from backup quarterback Gary Myron.

Miley was 11-for-22 for 61 yards, Gary was 6-of-11 for 78 yards and was the leading rusher of the blue hose with 53 yards on seven carries.

Equipment used for regular opponents in the first half of the 20th century, but Saturday was the first time he had met in 53 years. The series was uneven at the time too. Clemson won 14 in a row, culminating with a 66-0 victory in 1957.

Clemson Football, Denton, Texas – AP – Todd Dodge is no longer the hotshot high school coach hired to revitalize the football program in North Texas.

After 31 losses in three years, he’s just trying to hold on to their jobs and not become another case study in why it is so rare for a coach to be removed from the prepared and put in charge of a college team important.

The athletic director came after Dodge went 79-1 in five years at Southlake Carroll High School expects a winning season, which means a minimum of seven wins at Dodge just five in his college career.

Clemson, almost a four-touchdown favorite on Saturday game of the season, not realizing how far Dodge has fallen illustrated, referring to him as “Tom Dodge” in the pregame notes.

“It was very disappointing at times, not being where I thought it would be,” said Dodge. “We have a lot of black eyes and bloody nose.”

Dodge first two years were difficult and harder, characterized by bursts of routine in the field and it thorny issues. Players kicked off the 2007 team accused him and his staff of racial bias, but the administrators cleared the coaches. A year later, Dodge is suspected that some players were using drugs and analyzing each of them during the season. Fifteen were positive.

Perhaps the biggest setback came next, when two years from quarterback Giovanni Vizza left the team after the 2008 season. It was not only lose critical expertise in the most important position in a crime of dissemination of four receiver, but Dodge was hearing from others who figured Vizza coach your child starts, then redshirt freshman Riley Dodge.

“I recruited my son because he was the best choice possible,” said Dodge. “But that does not mean he would start again at a rate that began two years ago. When you go 1-11, all on the football team has to compete. But still, I had invested 20 starts in a man.

With ever Vizza, Riley Dodge started 10 games, but the results were more or less the same. Now the son of the coach – who won a state title last season in high school by his father – not a quarterback full-time because of shoulder and arm injuries. He is listed as a receiver and just hoping to contribute for the next three years as a sort of utility on the offensive.

“It’s just different, going from winning all the time to the class struggle,” said Riley Dodge. “It builds character. Me and my dad has humbled a little.”

Nathan Tune is the quarterback now. The fifth-year senior with only two career starts have the keys to a pass happy offense will go a long way toward determining whether it is or becomes Dodge Gerry Faust, the last car that was directly in the preparation rows to the highest level of college football. Notre Dame fired him in 1985 after five mediocre seasons.

Defense will have to play a role, too. North Texas was the last of the nation in scoring defense Dodge first two seasons, another setback for him, because he was criticized for bringing too many high school coaches with him, including his defensive coordinator. The coach was fired after the first season when Green gave the average over 70 points twice and 66 in another game.

All four of Carroll’s former assistants have gone; leaving Dodge surrounded by assistants with more college experience a lot.

“We need a very experienced staff that has been at this level and includes some of the things at this level,” athletic director Rick Villarreal said. “And I think that we understand more about Todd this level. Do not think he could have imagined that when he took office.”

Dodge was hired to help create a buzz and make a push for a new stadium. The part of the stadium plan was successful, but the buzz of students has been replaced by doubt. There is a possibility Dodge will not be around when the new stadium opens next year.

Such circumstances are not new to dodge, the former Texas quarterback suffered heavy criticism when he led the Longhorns in the 1980s. He knows what he expects his team manager, and is “fine with it.”

“Hard times here has not been done in the way of believing in me how I can lead a football team and what our football team can do,” Dodge said. “When my time is over with, there is no excuse.” I have done things differently? Sure. ”

Victory count is unlikely to start against Clemson, but the Tigers should be the toughest opponents on the schedule. While last year’s 2-10 record was the second in three years under Dodge, Green half were much more competitive. Six of the losses were by a touchdown or less.

North Texas also is hoping a strong running game to complement pass-first scheme of Dodge. Lance Dunbar finished among the national leaders last year with 1,378 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns in just eight starts. Six of the eight team’s best defenders back, including Craig Robertson, the leading tackler.

“Are we going to go 12-0? No. I think not,” said Dodge. “But we have the potential to win seven or eight ball games. We are in a window of the 2010-11 season where we really can turn this thing and not look back.”

If not, is unlikely to return to high school for Dodge.
