L’wren Scott Cause Of Death : Suicide by hanging, Fashion designer L’Wren Scott’s death has been confirmed a suicide.

An autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner determined that the girlfriend of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger hanged herself in her New York City apartment, the Associated Press has confirmed.

The 49-year-old, who was born Luann Bambrough, was found by her assistant with a scarf tied around her neck attached to a doorknob on Monday. She did not leave a note, according to the AP.

Shortly after news of her death spread, the Rolling Stones announced they’d be postponing their seven-date tour in Australia and New Zealand. Jagger released a statement shortly after to remember Scott, whom he dated for 10 years.

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way,” he wrote. “We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her.”

His bandmates broke their silence on Wednesday, taking to Facebook to remember her.

“No-one saw this coming,” Keith Richards wrote. “Mick’s always been my soul brother and we love him…we’re thick as thieves and we’re all feeling for the man…we really hate to disappoint our fans but we’ll see everyone really soon.”

“Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible,” Charlie Watts said, with Ronnie Wood adding: “This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time. Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can.”

Joan Of Arc Execution By Burning

March 9, 2012 by · Comments Off on Joan Of Arc Execution By Burning

Joan Of Arc Execution By Burning, Joan of Arc, nicknamed “The Maid of Orléans” (1412 – 30 May 1431), is a national heroine of France and a Roman Catholic saint. A peasant girl born in eastern France who claimed divine guidance, she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years’ War, which paved the way for the coronation of Charles VII. She was captured by the Burgundians, transferred to the English for money, put on trial by the pro-English Bishop of Beauvais, and burned at the stake when she was 19 years old.

Twenty-five years after the execution, an Inquisitorial court authorized by Pope Callixtus III examined the trial, pronounced her innocent and declared her a martyr. Joan of Arc was beatified in 1909 and canonized in 1920. She is – along with St. Denis, St. Martin of Tours, St. Louis IX, and St. Theresa of Lisieux – one of the patron saints of France. Joan said that she had visions from God that instructed her to recover her homeland from English domination late in the Hundred Years’ War. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent her to the siege of Orléans as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence when she overcame the dismissive attitude of veteran commanders and lifted the siege in only nine days. Several more swift victories led to Charles VII’s coronation at Reims and settled the disputed succession to the throne.

To the present day, Joan of Arc has remained a significant figure in Western culture. From Napoleon onward, French politicians of all leanings have invoked her memory. Famous writers and composers who have created works about her include: Shakespeare (Henry VI, Part 1), Voltaire (The Maid of Orleans poem), Schiller (The Maid of Orleans play), Verdi (Giovanna d’Arco), Tchaikovsky (The Maid of Orleans opera), Mark Twain (Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc), Arthur Honegger (Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher), Jean Anouilh (L’Alouette), Bertolt Brecht (Saint Joan of the Stockyards), George Bernard Shaw (Saint Joan) and Maxwell Anderson (Joan of Lorraine). Depictions of her continue in film, theatre, television, video games, music and performances.

John Keats Cause Of Death

March 9, 2012 by · Comments Off on John Keats Cause Of Death

John Keats Cause Of Death, John Keats (31 October 1795 – 23 February 1821) was an English Romantic poet. Along with Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley, he was one of the key figures in the second generation of the Romantic movement, despite the fact that his work had been in publication for only four years before his death.

Although his poems were not generally well received by critics during his life, his reputation grew after his death to the extent that by the end of the 19th century he had become one of the most beloved of all English poets. He has had a significant influence on a diverse range of later poets and writers: Jorge Luis Borges stated that his first encounter with Keats was the most significant literary experience of his life.

The poetry of Keats is characterized by sensual imagery, most notably in the series of odes. Today his poems and letters are some of the most popular and analyzed in English literature.

The first months of 1821 marked a slow and steady decline into the final stage of tuberculosis. Keats was coughing up blood and covered in sweat. Severn nursed him devotedly and observed in a letter how he would sometimes cry upon waking to find himself still alive. Severn writes,

“Keats raves till I am in a complete tremble for him…about four, the approaches of death came on. [Keats said] ‘Severn-I-lift me up-I am dying-I shall die easy; don’t be frightened-be firm, and thank God it has come.’ I lifted him up in my arms. The phlegm seem’d boiling in his throat, and increased until eleven, when he gradually sank into death, so quiet, that I still thought he slept.”

Keats’s grave in Rome
John Keats died on 23 February 1821 and was buried in the Protestant Cemetery, Rome. His last request was to be placed under an unnamed tombstone which contained only the words (in pentameter), “Here lies one whose name was writ in water.” Severn and Brown erected the stone, which under a relief of a lyre with broken strings, contains the epitaph:

“This Grave / contains all that was Mortal / of a / Young English Poet / Who / on his Death Bed, in the Bitterness of his Heart / at the Malicious Power of his Enemies / Desired / these Words to be / engraven on his Tomb Stone: / Here lies One / Whose Name was writ in Water. 24 February 1821”
There is a discrepancy of one day between the official date of death and the grave marking. Severn and Brown added their lines to the stone in protest at the critical reception of Keats’s work. Hunt blamed his death on the Quarterly Review’s scathing attack of “Endymion”. As Byron quipped in his narrative poem Don Juan;

Seven weeks after the funeral Shelley memorialised Keats in his poem Adonaïs. Clark saw to the planting of daisies on the grave, saying that Keats would have wished it. For public health reasons, the Italian health authorities burned the furniture in Keats’s room, scraped the walls, made new windows, doors and flooring. The ashes of Shelley, one of Keats’s most fervent champions, are buried within the cemetery and Joseph Severn’s body is buried next to Keats. Describing the vista of the site today, Marsh wrote, “In the old part of the graveyard, barely a field when Keats was buried here, there are now umbrella pines, myrtle shrubs, roses, and carpets of wild violets”.
