2012: Dancing With The Stars, Maria Menounos has said that being a ‘tough Greek’ helped her battle through her Dancing With The Stars routine last night with a broken rib. The Extra presenter, 33, insisted that she would ‘power through’ the pain, and her determination paid off when she and partner Derek Hough achieved a score of 25 out of 30 for their Bonnie and Clyde-inspired performance.

Maria is said to be in ‘excruciating’ pain, and was forced to wear a rib brace under her dress.

Miss Menounos suffered the injury during rehearsals, according to reports.
‘Injury or not, I’m going to be a tough Greek and I’m going to kick some [butt]!’ she told host Brooke Burke.

‘I feel great. I did my best. We powered through!’ Maria and Derek’s quickstep was dubbed ‘nearly spotless’ by the judges.

The was a significant improvement from last week’s routine, which failed to impress judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli.

The duo placed just behind Katherine Jenkins and Mark Balls, and Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower – who tied for first with scores of 26.
