James Harrison

November 30, 2010 by · Comments Off on James Harrison

James Harrison, Down Stevie Johnson was the big story after the loss of overtime bills at Steelers Sunday, but it has served to overshadow a weak performance by the team rated No. 1 wide receiver Lee Evans.

Evans had a catch of nine yards. He fumbled the ball away on his only reception. James Harrison jars the ball free and recovered Troy Polamalu. That’s what the real stars do. They revolve around games. Evans was barely a factor. He left a deep pass sail through his hands on the first play of overtime. It was a difficult decision. But it is a fact of elite receiver.

Over the last four games, Evans has eight catches. He has not scored a touchdown since the Baltimore game. He fumbled on the hard Bills’ equalizer at the end of regulation in Kansas City, but fortunately, Mike Vrabel was out of bounds when he recovered.

At his current pace, Evans would end with 46 catches for 736 yards. It’s better than last year, but not what you expect from the highest paid player in the history of bills. Who is the real No. 1, Evans or Johnson?

* It seems certain that the MVP award will go to fourth. Most authors NFL do not think voting for a defensive player. But if I vote, I believe that casting for Polamalu. When watching the Steelers strong safety in person, you’re reminded just how phenomenal an athlete he is.

The Steelers are a different team when the guy with the hair is crazy, it’s on the ground. I’m not sure they are a legitimate contender for the Super Bowl. But remove Polamalu and they have no chance.

* San Diego is one of its tracks patented late season and perhaps the best team in the AFC. The Chargers have won four in a row to reach 6-5, one game behind the leaders of the AFC West. They are No. 1 in the league in offense and defense. They host the Chiefs in two weeks. Their remaining games are against losing teams: Denver, Cincinnati, Oakland and San Francisco. Maybe they will even win in the playoffs. In 2004-09, the Chargers won the most games of any team in six years without reaching the Super Bowl.

* Peyton Hillis Cleveland is up to 905 yards rushing after his 131-yard day against the Panthers Sunday. Unless injury, Hillis became the first rusher in 25 years for white gain 1,000 yards in an NFL season. The last was James Craig of the Patriots in 1985. Hillis could reach when the Browns visit the Bills in two weeks.

* This is not the ideal time for the Bills to play in Minnesota. Sunday will be the Vikings first home game under interim coach Leslie Frazier. You remember how inspired the Bills were a year ago when Perry Fewell coached his first game at home. Bills beat Miami 31-14.

* The Seahawks lost at home to KC on Sunday, 42-24. They have been outscored by 66 points over the year. They are 5-6. And to think, they are tied for first with the Rams in the NFC West and could play at home in the wild-card round. Is not it time the NFL has found a way to notify winners misallocation of hosting playoff games?

* It does not justify and 6 million salary, but Chris Kelsay is playing the best football of his career. After the Steelers game, in which he had nine tackles and a sack, Kelsay said things started turning around when the coaches realized it was better to put his hand down and play as a defensive end.

* In his last three games, Fred Jackson has 462 combined yards, rushing for 308 yards and an average of 5.3. In the previous three, Jackson had 188 total yards, 153 rushing yards and an average of 3.0. Once again, we learn to never count the guy out.

Weight Watchers New Program, Because this Cyber Monday. For others, it is, “Sigh … do I really need help as the 14th of fried turkey?” Monday. Weight Watchers today presented a revision of his “points” program for weight loss in function, arguing that more is known about the science of weight loss than had been 13 years ago when the system been established. Paging Dr. Gupta has more in-depth information on the science of it all, but it should not escape mention that the announcement was made on Monday following a holiday to eat this year.

As we have said time and again, we are a food blog, not a diet blog. We are all respectful, joyous celebration of food, rather than self-recrimination, but hey – sometimes eating is cumbersome and complicated.
You can tell what’s your opinion.
