Suh Hit On Delhomme

August 31, 2010 by · Comments Off on Suh Hit On Delhomme

Suh Hit On Delhomme, Saturday night against the Detroit Lions, and he will miss practice for a while, coach Eric Mangini said Monday.

Sorensen is not expected to play in the game of the Browns preseason fourth and final year on Thursday night against the Chicago Bears.

Sorensen, a key player on special teams, was injured when his helmet collided with two Lions players as he ran down the field on kickoff coverage. He was immobilized and carried off the field after a delay of about six minutes. He was evaluated in a Detroit hospital but released later Saturday night.

”At first, when the arms are stuck in the air, not moving,”said Browns linebacker David Bowens. ”I had a great concern, especially in situations now with these head injuries and how we are aware of them. But then he began to move his limbs, and I felt very relieved.”

Mangini also expressed relief at his press conference after the game Saturday, adding that Sorensen’s wife, Danielle, is seven months pregnant.

”This could have induced premature labor,”Mangini said.

Players from both teams knelt and prayed while Sorensen was on the floor.

”It’s part of the game, and it is difficult,”said Bowen. ”That can happen at any time. It can occur in practice. It can happen, no pills. Every day we take the risk of hurting ourselves, whether a head injury, leg injury or anything. It is a harsh reality. It is part of the game. We are grateful that was not as bad as we thought.”

Brown declined the invitation

Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown does not plan to attend the inauguration of the Ring of Honor Browns Sept. 19 at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Browns President Mike Holmgren said he came to Brown in the hope of the latter would go to the ceremony, which will honor the franchise’s 16 Hall of Fame. Brown, however, declined.

Jim turned to me”as he said he would and told me that is not present in the Cleveland Browns Ring of Honor ceremony,”Holmgren said.

Brown recently suggested that he feels disrespected by the organization of the Browns. In May, he was relieved of his duties as senior advisor for its Browns Randy Lerner. In a radio interview Thursday with WSKO (1260 AM) in Syracuse, New York, Brown said:”I am very sensitive. I like to be respected. I’m very loyal. I like being a two-way street.”

As leaders

Lions rookie defensive front helmet hit Ndamukong Suh torque and the subsequent withdrawal of Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme is under review by the league office, an NFL spokesman, said Beacon Journal by e-mail. Suh, the second overall pick this year, could be fined or suspended.

After throwing down Delhomme, Suh was penalized with a personal foul that gave the Browns a first down. Two plays later, Delhomme threw a 5-yard pass to fullback Lawrence Vickers with 8:09 left in the second.

”It’s put the quarterback at risk, but I’m not the officer,”Mangini said. ”You know I will not see that at any time. As I said, my experience with [Suh] in the design process is that he is a good boy, and was not only a great decision.”

While Browns players talked in the locker room before practice Monday, they made different predictions about how the NFL will Suh coup. Backup quarterback Seneca Wallace, Suh said, should be suspended.

After the Lions practiced Monday, Suh told the Flint Journal:”It’s not my job to worry about whether a guy really hit me too hard or not. He was behind the ball and trying to make a play, and that’s what I’m going to keep doing.”

In response to a comment from Wallace, Suh said,’’that’s unfortunate. That’s his opinion, he is right. I mean, I just want to go out and play hard, that’s my main goal.”

Hard Decisions

NFL teams are required to reduce their list of 80-man today to 75 players and 53 on Saturday. There are several players on the roster for the Browns who are on the bubble.

”I think they are going to be some tough decisions,”Mangini said. ”In the place running, I think Chris Jennings did some good things last year. I think that Alex Smith has done some good things at tight end, so [he could] to the number of tight ends to maintain. Peyton Hillis, if you want to put it on the list as a fullback or broker [is a] factor.”

Mangini also said rookie running Montaria Hardesty,”to play against Chicago, so [we] will be able to take a look at it. All these things come into play, so those are the tough decisions. This is a good part of having the fourth preseason game.”
Brownies, Tight end Benjamin Watson and offensive lineman John St. Clair missed practice on Monday for personal reasons, “said Mangini . . .. Tight end Robert Royal did not practice either. He walked by the locker room before practice with a walking boot on his right leg . . .. The offensive lineman Floyd Womack, who has been inactive for the entire preseason with knee problems, also spent some time in the locker room and seemed in good spirits.

Hurricane Earl Path

Hurricane Earl Path, Hurricane Earl is on a path to the U.S., current projections, and head north to New England to lose and could maintain hurricane strength as you go. As someone who has experienced major hurricanes first hand – I felt the eye of Hurricane Andrew in Miami in 1992 and New Orleans pre-Hurricane Katrina – I’ve seen how difficult it can be hurricanes. The emotional and physical damage is real (for Andrew, we lost all our roof, our roof collapsed, the porch left without words, and a traumatized child finished elementary school).
Without minimizing — crouching in a bathtub while-your-house-spins-around-you sense, it is important to remember how expensive it can be hurt by the storm, and how useful it is to take preventive measures. Although not seen as Earl is going to pull any magic Category 5 in the Northeast, taking into account the effect of Katrina in my childhood home: It was only a Category 1 or 2 when he arrived, but our roof leaked so so terrible that we had to use our generator to run the dryer in order to produce more towels to stop the water – we’d use a wet towel in the house alone. The same happened with all our neighbors, because all our ceilings were just 13 years old, as they had all been replaced for the last time after Andrew. Preventive measures such as custom blinds are extremely expensive, but after the stories I heard, I would not put my trust in the board layers.
Conclusion: Prevention is expensive, but cleanliness is even more expensive. The Northeast is not used to hurricanes, but if you’re looking for someone to tell you about supplies of bottled water, just ask the Miami
