The RP team edged host South Korea, 3-2, at the Municipal Tennis Courts Chanwon in the city of Changwon, DavisCup.com reported.

Treat Huey posted a 7-5, 7-5, 6-3 in the final rubber decider against Jeong Suk-Young.
Cecil Mamiit won the game earlier after the fourth Yong-Kyu Lim retired while leading the Philippine team captain, 6-3, 6-4, 4-6, 1-1.
Huey and Mamiit joined on Saturday to the doubles match against Hyun-Joon Kim and Jae-Min Seol. The Filipino-American scored the first point for the Philippines with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 triumph.
The South Korean team, which was led by Kim Nam-Hoon, will be relegated to Group II next year. You now have a 5-4 lead over the Philippines in the standings head to head.
