Va Lottery, (AP) – The Virginia Lottery said all 330,000 tickets were sold for New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.Lottery spokesman John Hagerty said the last 20 ticket was sold shortly after noon Friday. The drawing is set for New Year’s Day. The draw will award three prizes and one million and six awards and 25,000. An additional 300 players will win $ 500. Authorities arrested two men Thursday after leads developed during an investigation into a burglary earlier this week at Speedy’s Convenience Store on North Delphine Avenue in Waynesboro.
Police said in Waynesboro evidence of a flight Christmas Eve television Walmart Waynesboro led to the arrest and additional charges in other cases. Donnie Lee Jarvis, 34, of Crimora is charged with larceny in the theft of large Walmart. He also faces a charge of Augusta County detention and transportation of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Matthew M. Painter, 26, of Dooms is responsible for the break of Speedy, with a flight award on December 29 which resulted in a charge of credit card fraud. Painter is also facing two other robbery charges. Both men are currently held at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
