The lucky ticket holder matched four of five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball to win the $10,000 third prize. Because they also purchased the Megaplier option for an additional dollar and the Megaplier drawn was 3, the prize is tripled to $30,000.

Winning numbers are 16, 25, 28, 32, and 40. The Mega Ball is 3 and the Megaplier is 3. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Mega Millions are 1:689,065.

The owner of the ticket is advised to sign the back of it immediately and put it in a safe place before contacting the Sioux Falls Lottery office at 367-5840 or the Pierre Lottery office at 773-5770. Winners have 180 days to claim their prize.

Mega Millions is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot currently sits at $72 million for the next drawing is tonight, Feb. 21.
