Pigeon Forge Events

March 16, 2013 by

Pigeon Forge Events, A fundraiser was held Friday in Sevier County to honor a boy battling a rare form of brain cancer.

The walk-a-thon took place in Pigeon Forge, with proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

That’s where 12-year-old Regen Morris, of Gatlinburg, is being treated.

A community-wide campaign called ‘Rootin’ for Regen’ has grown to show support for Regen and his family.

Friday’s fundraiser was organized by employees at Texas Roadhouse.

Even though many of them have never met Regen, they knew they wanted to help.

“Our whole town here has been just ‘Rootin for Regen’,” said Texas Roadhouse employee Hilary Vite. “Everyone wants to be a part of it and to show support for him and his family, so we thought there would be no better way in doing something where everybody can come together and do something for him.”
