Fair Park, Dallas, Police in Dallas say a man was reaching for a weapon when an officer shot and killed him shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday near Fair Park.
The shooting happened as the officer was checking on a suspicious person call in the 3700 block of Penelope. The caller said a suspicious vehicle with dark-tinted windows was parked near their residence.
The officer spotted the car and began to approach when a handgun was spotted inside the vehicle. Police said a man inside the car began to reach for it, which was when the officer reacted, fatally shooting the suspect.
A second person inside the vehicle was not injured and was taken into custody.
Neither the suspects nor the officer’s identities were released.
