Ex PM of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif Guilty: Nawaz to serve 10 years in jail for owning assets beyond income, Maryam 7 for abetment, The accountability court on Friday announced the verdict in the Avenfield properties corruption reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), handing ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif 10 years as jail time for owning assets beyond income and 1 year for not cooperating with NAB. The sentences will run concurrently which means the former prime minister will serve 10 years in jail.

His daughter Maryam Nawaz was given 7 years for abetment, and 1 year for non-cooperation with the bureau — also to run concurrently; she will serve 7 years in total.

Nawaz’s son-in-law retired Captain Safdar has been given 1 year jail time — also for not cooperating with NAB.

As the 9-month-long trial concluded, Nawaz was handed a fine of £8 million and Maryam £2 million. The money will go into the state treasury.

According to AFP, prosecution lawyer Sardar Muzaffar Abbas also said that the court had ordered the properties, in London’s exclusive Mayfair, be confiscated by the federal government.

The sons, Hasan and Hussain Nawaz, also accused in the case, are “absconding therefore, they are declared as proclaimed offenders. Non bailable perpetual warrants of arrest shall be issued against them”.

Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, Ariana Grande has addressed her fans’ concerns over a joke about the Manchester attack made by her fiancé Pete Davidson.

Grande replied to a tweet posted by a fan, who expressed concern about Grande’s relationship with Davidson.

“I don’t know why she is still with Pete, like yeah he made that joke a while ago, but like it’s not funny, it’s just rude,” wrote @ariissalegend.

I respect Ariana and I want her to be happy and everything, but she was just broken after the Manchester bombing, so I don’t know why she is still with Pete, like yeah he made that joke a while ago, but like it’s not funny, it’s just rude. This is my opinion.

The joke in question was made during a standup gig several months ago. Davidson said that Grande must know that she’s reached a certain level of fame because “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert.”

22 people were killed after the attack at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester arena in May 2017.

Grande responded to @ariissalegend’s tweet, stating that it “has been v tough & conflicting” on her heart.

“He uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in the world are,” she wrote. “We all deal w trauma differently.”

this has been v tough & conflicting on my heart. he uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. we all deal w trauma differently. I of course didn’t find it funny. it was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate

– Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) July 5, 2018

That said, Grande conceded that she didn’t find the joke funny.

“I of course didn’t find it funny,” she wrote. “It was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate.”

Fans replied to Grande’s response explaining why they are upset about Davidson’s comment, but stated that “no blame is on” her and that they love her.

I think we’re upset because it still has hurt so many people. It would be nice if he could apologise to the people who were at Manchester bc they ofc didn’t find it funny either considering people lost their lives and were injured. I want you to know that no blame is on you ily

– Amy (@veganGrande_) July 5, 2018

It was unfortunate but we are human we all cope/deal with how shitty this world is in different ways and coming from someone who has also lost a parent I internalize pain/ trauma differently than most. Jokes often come when we are most distraught/ depressed. Love you!!!

– Taylor cenci 💜🖤💜🖤 (@taylor_cenci) July 5, 2018

Other fans said they’d “agree disagree” with Grande about the remark.

He can use personal tragedies if that helps him cope but manchester had nothing to do with him. Its not his to joke about, and parents who lost their children at the concert are upset. Idk agree to disagree i guess.

okay but the manchester attack had NOTHING to do with him. I understand the ways he made jokes about his father’s death to help cope but how was he affected by Manchester at all? How are his jokes in anyway supposed to make the victims feel better? It’s just a sorry excuse.

What say you, Davidson?

Dunkin Donuts Employee Fired

July 2, 2018 by · Comments Off on Dunkin Donuts Employee Fired

Dunkin Donuts Employee Fired, A downtown Dunkin’ Donuts is receiving backlash after an employee told a homeless woman to “stop ‘hangin’ outside” the store.

It happened Friday morning at the store on Court Street when someone went to go buy the homeless woman a drink. The owner of the store, Mike Benhase, says the employee making the beverage took “matters into her own hands.”

“She had some sort of issue,” he said.

That employee wrote the following on the cup: “Stop ‘hangin’ in front of the store if you have a fulltime job. -Mgmt.”

Benhase says that employee is no longer with the company.

“When I found out what happened I was in shock. I just couldn’t believe it,” said Benhase.

A homeless individual that spoke with FOX19 said they knew the woman this happened to.

“You guys aren’t living down here on the street, you can’t say that,” they said. “You can’t judge anybody because everybody has a heart at the end of the day.”

Benhase owns eight locations and has been in the business for 12 years.

“I’ve never had anything like this happen before,” he said.

He hopes to get in contact with the woman the written note hurt and make it right.

“The management and the ownership of our company does not support that whatsoever. We’re all about taking care of people, being nice to people, our business is built on being nice,” said Benhase.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, The veteran leftist politician won Sunday’s election in his third attempt at the presidency.

Leftist Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has won Sunday’s presidential election in Mexico in his third attempt at the presidency, according to exit polls and an official “quick count” of the votes.

For 13 years, Lopez Obrador crisscrossed the nation in a pursuit of its highest office.

Commonly known as AMLO, 64-year-old Lopez Obrador bounced back from two presidential election defeats, two gubernatorial losses and a 2013 heart attack, defying his critics with an unshakeable faith in his ability to tackle Mexico’s maladies.

“We’re the only ones that can put an end to corruption in Mexico,” Lopez Obrador told supporters this year in Cintalapa, a town in the impoverished south of the country.

Born in 1953 to a family of modest means in the southeastern state of Tabasco, Lopez Obrador worked for the state’s indigenous affairs bureau in the 1970s.

He was a member of outgoing President Enrique Pena Nieto’s PRI, but he quit the party in the late 1980s.

He lost in Tabasco’s governor race two times.

In 1994, after his second loss, he staged a protest march to the capital, helping raise his profile, especially during a time of growing opposition to the PRI.

In 2000, he was elected mayor of Mexico City, where his administration was widely viewed as pragmatic, providing a springboard for his first bid at the presidency.

He ran for president in 2006 on promises to “put the poor first”. Opponents likened him to then-President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and launched a campaign branding him “a danger for Mexico”.

Fierce opposition from business groups may have cost him an election, which was decided by a razor-thin margin. After the loss, he claimed the system had been rigged against him.

He then brought large swaths of the capital to a standstill for weeks with huge demonstrations and declared himself the legitimate president of Mexico.

The protests fizzled out and he began campaigning all over Mexico, speaking in villages that had not seen political leaders in years, sometimes to only a handful of people, according to Polimnia Romana Sierra, one of his aides from 2003 to 2011.

“He spoke with the same energy under a tree in front of 10 people as he did in the full Zocalo,” Sierra said, referring to the square in the heart of Mexico City that holds about 100,000 people. “Nobody works the microphone like him.”

Lopez Obrador went back on the road after losing the presidential race again in 2012.

He formed a new party, the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA), and by 2015, he was seen by many as someone who seemed poised to win the next election.

As support for the PRI dropped over corruption scandals, record levels of violence and economic growth that fell short of expectations, Lopez Obrador’s stature grew.

FIFA WORLD CUP 2018

July 1, 2018 by · Comments Off on FIFA WORLD CUP 2018

FIFA WORLD CUP 2018, Cristiano Ronaldo made a supercharged start to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaâ„¢ and was widely expected to kick on and be the star of the tournament.

Four goals in Portugal’s opening two matches put him out front as the highest scorer in the competition, until, that is, he missed a penalty against Iran, at which point his chances of returning to the top of the scoring charts began to wane.

“I’m happy, and I’m leaving here content because things went pretty well in general,” said Ronaldo after his side’s last-16 defeat to Uruguay. “We’re going out with heads held high and the Portugal team will continue to win things.”

Now 33, the Portugal captain set a string of new records and milestones at Russia 2018. Aside from winning his 150th cap, he also briefly became his country’s oldest goalscorer – a record that Quaresma and then Pepe eclipsed.

He also scored the fastest goal at the tournament so far, struck its first hat-trick, and, just for good measure, has now scored more goals in national team football than any other player.

Despite all those records, the skipper preferred to focus on the team: “It’s not the time to talk about the future of the players, the coaches, and the position the side is in. I’m absolutely convinced that the national team will continue to be one of the best in the world.”

The question now is, will Ronaldo be running out at Qatar 2022, when he will be 37? Whatever the future may bring, there can be no doubting the legacy he has created in the national team.

“We’ve got some great players and a tremendous squad, a young group of players with real ambition to go out and succeed,” he said. “That’s why I’m confident and happy, because I know that the national team will always be as strong as it can be.”

As he took his leave of the tournament, Cristiano was in no doubt that Portugal had done the very best they could: “Generally speaking, we can be proud of our efforts.

“We gave it our best shot and the team played well. As the captain, I’m proud of the players, the coaching team, the staff, and all the people who worked with the group to make sure everything went well.”

The defeat to Uruguay meant Portugal repeated their last-16 exit at South Africa 2010, a performance well short of their fourth place at Germany 2006 and their best ever finish of third at England 1966.

Anything can happen in a knockout match, and though Portugal performed well against the Uruguayans and could have emerged winners, Ronaldo was in sporting mood: “I’d like to congratulate Uruguay, who scored twice, but I’d also like to praise Portugal for what they did.

“To my mind, Portugal played better than Uruguay. We had chances but that’s football for you: the team that scores more goals wins, which is why Uruguay are celebrating.”
