Georgia Dad Accused Of Killing Son In Hot Car Loses Supporters, Supporters of the Georgia dad accused of leaving his infant son to die in a hot car have backed away from their online petition after police raised doubts about the father’s account of what happened.

“I think that based on recent developments this petition is no longer relevant,” read a note on the Change.org petition originally launched to help Justin Ross Harris, who faces murder charges after leaving his 22-month old son in the backseat of his SUV while he was at work June 18.

“I still pray that this was truly an accident. If that is the case, the DA now knows that the community does not want Justin prosecuted on murder charges,” the statement read.

Wife Gets 50 Years For Man’s ‘Monstrous’ Killing, A judge on Friday imposed a 50-year sentence on a woman convicted of killing her husband using pliers, a box cutter and a plastic baseball bat during a jealous rage.

Justice E. Allen Hunter, who previously described Roxanne Jeskey’s actions as “monstrous savagery,” told her he chose not to impose a life sentence because of her brain injury. Her lawyers argued that the injury contributed to mental problems, leading to the violent outburst in June 2011.

A medical examiner reported that Richard Jeskey was beaten and strangled and suffered cuts, punctures and bruises from head to toe. His nkd body was found in a bathtub in their Bangor apartment.

A neighbor testified that Roxanne Jeskey was angry because her husband had been calling another woman.

On Friday, she addressed the judge and suggested she would have been better off letting “nature take its course” instead of having surgery 10 years earlier to remove a brain tumor.

Albuquerque Climber Hospitalized After Mountain Tumble, An Albuquerque woman is in serious condition after falling off a cliff and landing flat on her back near the Sandia Crest early Thursday morning, authorities say.

The experienced climber was rappelling down a steep rock formation when she fell nearly 30 feet onto her back after a rock she grabbed broke off the mountain. Although in extreme pain, she was conscious and managed to call friend and experienced mountain guide Marc Beverly, who informed rescuers before arriving.

Due to windy conditions, nearly 30 rescuers could not perform a hoist rescue as expected, and had to rappel down the steep and rocky terrain to retrieve the woman, Sgt. Aaron Williamson of Bernalillo County Sheriff Department Rescuers told ABC News.

A rescue helicopter was waiting at the top of the mountain to airlift the climber to University of New Mexico Hospital.

When Beverly received the call he could tell his friend was in serious pain. “I almost thought she wasn’t going to make it,” Beverly told ABC affiliate KOAT, “like she wasn’t going to be okay by the time I got to her.”

Beverly is a medic at the Albuquerque Mountain Rescue Council (AMRC), a non-profit volunteer service specializing in technical rescues in the New Mexico mountains.

AMRC President Lance Johnson told ABC news that the woman was a highly experienced climber. Though wearing a helmet and harness, she sustained severe injuries which left her unable to move.

‘Jeopardy’ Contestant Gives Greatest Wrong Answer Ever, One Jeopardy contestant may not have won the day, but he seems to have won the title of “greatest wrong answer ever.”

The final clue of Thursday’s episode was apparently a hard one. It read, “In 1891 this European said, ‘Perhaps my factories will put an end to war sooner than your congresses.'”

Ari Voukydis, a comedy writer from Los Angeles, had no clue so instead wrote, “Who is this handsome gentlemen?” with an arrow pointing towards himself. He later told TODAY, “When I realized that I didn’t have an opportunity to win after Final Jeopardy, then I went after sort of a secondary target, which was to come up with a good Final Jeopardy answer so I could kind of lose on my own terms.”

Because of the “handsome gentlemen,” Thursday’s Jeopardy episode has been viewed more than 80,000 times on YouTube. To put that into perspective, Wednesday’s episode barely broke 800.
