Man Shoots Son

Man Shoots Son, A Connecticut man responding to his sister’s call for help during an apparent burglary at her home next door, shot and killed a masked intruder who turned out to be his own teenage son, state police said on Friday. Tyler Giuliano, 15, was wearing a ski mask and appeared to be armed when he was shot on Thursday by his father, who authorities declined to identify, said Lieutenant J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the Connecticut State Police.

The father’s sister, who lives next door, was home alone before 1 a.m. when she called him to report someone trying to break into her home. The father went over to investigate and was approached by a masked person dressed entirely in black and holding a shiny object, police said in a statement.

“Believing the suspect was armed with a weapon and about to attack him, the (father) discharged his personal handgun at the suspect,” police said in the statement.

Giuliano was pronounced dead at the scene.

“(He) was lying on the ground in the driveway with obvious gunshot injuries, holding a weapon,” the statement said.

Vance declined to further describe the weapon.

Authorities seized the father’s gun, were investigating whether it is registered and will consult with the state’s attorney to determine if any charges will be filed, Vance said.

Police also were investigating why the teen, who has no criminal history, was outside his aunt’s home.

“We truly don’t know. We’ll look at the family dynamics, (his) school locker, cell phone, computer to figure out what’s going on,” Vance said.

Alabama Ole Miss Score

Alabama Ole Miss Score, Alabama held off a pesky Ole Miss squad for a 30-14 victory in what has proven to be the Tide’s toughest game of the young season. Hugh Freeze’s club overcame three first-half turnovers to push Alabama and cause Nick Saban’s club to play a four-quarter game for the first time in 2012.

Freshman receiver Amari Cooper caught two first-half touchdown passes from A.J. McCarron and Jeremy Shelley booted four short field goals to help Alabama avert a potential upset bid on what was a wild Saturday across college football.

The win moves Alabama to 5-0 and gives them two wins in the SEC Western division heading into its bye week.

That will do it folks, Alabama wins 33-14 in a game that was tougher than the score indicated.

As always, thanks for stopping by and stay glued to B/R for more coverage of this game and all of the happenings around college football.

Alabama cannot pound out a rushing touchdown as Ole Miss knocks Lacy backwards.

Facing a fourth-and-four inside the Rebels 10-yard line, Alabama calls timeout.

Dee Hart is walking off the field under his own power, which has to be a good sign for his injury prognosis.

McCarron has been money on third down all-night long, and this time he hits Cooper on a crossing route for a first down.

Alabama is in position to milk the clock and perhaps tack on a late score for some style points.

ESPN reports that Hart “was emotional” in talking to trainers, so his injury may be worth monitoring moving forward.

McCarron and Cooper appear to be devoloping a nice chemistry, especially on third downs, and Alabama is in the red zone once again.

Ole Miss manages to get near midfield before Alabama’s defense tightened up and forced the Rebels to punt.

Dee Hart went down awkwardly fielding that punt in a way that has to make Tide fans cringe.

Hart was forced to redshirt in 2011 after tearing his ACL in the summer before the season began.

Hopefully, this injury turns out to be less severe than the one he suffered last year.

Ole Miss has played a whale of a game on defense thus far, and have fought valiantly to keep Alabama’s offense out of the end zone, and the offense took the lead on a gutsy drive earlier this quarter.

But a huge special teams return and a quick turnover and they are down 13 points in the blink of an eye.

As I type that, Bo Wallace throws another pick with Robert Lester getting the turnover this go around and returning it to the Ole Miss 40-yard line and now Alabama can really put their foot on the Rebels’ throats if they can punch this possession in for six.

The officials are reviewing whether or not Lester fumbled it back to Ole Miss at the end of his return.

Presidential Debates 2012

Presidential Debates 2012, These last two weeks have been a brutal stretch for Mitt Romney in his struggle to unseat President Barack Obama. Romney’s fallen behind in critical battleground states, polls show. Furor over a video of Romney declaring 47 percent of Americans “dependent on government” and “victims” eclipsed his message for days. Panicked Republicans tell him to turn it around fast – or lose on Nov. 6.

On Wednesday, Romney gets what could be his last, best chance to change the trajectory of the 2012 election when he steps on the stage in Denver to debate Obama.

“Romney can use the debate to hit ‘reboot’ and get the focus back on the economy and the failings of the incumbent,” said Christopher Nicholas, a Pennsylvania Republican strategist. “He will be able to force Obama to talk about what he’s been able to avoid for the last couple of weeks: the unemployment rate.”

It is the first of three nationally televised debates that will dominate the last month of the campaign. If 2008 is a reliable indicator, they could reach audiences of up to 60 million Americans – by far the largest of the campaign.

Recent polls show Obama with growing leads in Ohio, Florida and Virginia, perhaps the three most important of the dwindling number of swing states.

History suggests Romney will benefit from the elevating effect that challengers get from being on an equal footing with the incumbent: same stage, same bland lecterns, same lighting.

His advisers have signaled that Romney will be aggressive in attacking Obama’s economic record, hoping to put the president on the defensive and provoke him into making a mistake. In some polls, though, voters now rate Obama better on the economy than the former business executive.

Rick Ross Young Jeezy, Tension exploded between Rick Ross’ MMG crew, Young Jeezy’s camp and G-unit in Atlanta this weekend. During Saturday’s (September 29) taping for BET’s 2012 Hip-Hop Awardsin Atlanta Rozay and the Snowman reportedly got into a shoving match backstage before the scuffle spilled outside into the parking lot. Shots were fired and at least one man was said to be arrested.

That’s not all. Multiple sources who witnessed the fray confirmed to MTV News that Ross’ protégé Gunplay was also involved in fisticuffs with members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit camp. Gun was seen with visible wounds and a witness told us that the Miami MC was put into handcuffs and detained, but a separate source close to Gunplay told us that he was not arrested.

Most of the crowd inside the Atlanta Civic Center, where the taping took place were unaware of the drama that jumped off around the same time that A Tribe Called Quest, Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes paid tribute to fallen music mogul Chris Lighty. 50 Cent and Fat Joe, who have quarreled repeatedly semed to have put their differences aside for the moment as they too appeared on stage to honor Lighty. Both Rick Ross and Jeezy also performed different sets during the award show.

New York DJ Funkmaster Flex took to Twitter to broadcast his account. “Jeezy and Rick Ross just had words backstage!! Pushing and shoving,”Flex wrote. “Shots fired in parking lot!!! Gunman arrested!!!”

Machine Gun Kelly also seemed to get caught up in the whirlwind as well. “Got mase in my eyes. That beef sh– just got real,” he tweeted.
