Baseline Killer

Baseline Killer, An Arizona jury on Wednesday sentenced a man convicted of being the Phoenix area’s Baseline Killer to death, rejecting his pleas for mercy and denials of guilt and agreeing with prosecutors that the nine murders he committed were especially cruel.

Jurors reached the verdict about a month after they found 47-year-old Mark Goudeau (goo-DOH’) guilty of the nine murders and 58 other charges, including kidnapping and rape.

Goudeau had been serving a 438-year sentence in a 2005 sexual assault case tied to the Baseline Killer attacks, but only recently became eligible for the death penalty after his murder convictions.

Prosecutors had argued that Goudeau was a “ravenous wolf” driven by a hunger to rape women and kill those who didn’t cooperate with his demands, and that the murders were especially cruel because the victims suffered unimaginable terror and anguish in the moments leading up to their deaths.

“He enjoyed the power and dominion he exercised over these victims,” prosecutor Patricia Stevens told jurors. “He enjoyed the threats of force, the threats of death.”

Therapist Brainwashed Woman, A psychologist accused of hypnotizing a woman into believing she possessed multiple personalities and participated in satanic rituals may be sued by several others who say they were also told they had been a part of a satanic cult, according to a Missouri attorney.

Lisa Nasseff, 41, of Saint Paul, Minn., is suing her former therapist, Mark Schwartz, and the Castlewood Treatment Center in St. Louis, Mo., where she received 15 months of treatment for anorexia, according to the complaint.

Instead of improving, the lawsuit alleges Nasseff suffered “great physical pain and suffering and anguish” during her time at the facility, and asserts that she will continue to suffer.

“She was hospitalized multiple times,” Nasseff’s lawyer, Kenneth Vuylsteke, told ABCNews.com. “One time she tried to commit suicide … she’s done much better now that she’s been away from there.”

The complaint alleges Nasseff’s therapist, Mark Schwartz, “carelessly and negligently hypnotized [Nasseff]” while she was under the influence of “various psychotropic medications” to treat depression and anxiety. The hypnosis allegedly created false memories, including the belief that she was “a member of a satanic cult and that she was involved in or perpetrated various criminal and horrific acts of abuse.”

Man Sues Play Boy Favoring Women, One of the guests at the recently held Play boy mansion benefit was surprised to learn that the venue favored attractive women, and now he’s suing for equal treatment.

Steve Frye claims that he paid $1,000 to attend the Leather Meets Lace party, while scantily-clad women got in for free, the Daily Mail reported.

He claimed that there’s a double standard at the mansion, and that allowing women easy entry ”promotes harmful, negative stereotypes.”

The suit, which was filed in California Central Court, also claims that Play boy is in violation of state’s Gender Tax Repeal Act of 1995.

Kidnapper Sues Hostages Broke Promise

Kidnapper Sues Hostages Broke Promise, Jesse Dimmick took a couple hostage in Kansas and now he’s suing them after they fled from their home and alerted police about the situation. According to Dimmick the couple broke an oral contract when they promised to hide him from police in exchange for money.

The obviously unhinged criminal says the couple promised to keep him safe but after he fell asleep they snuck out of their home and called the police.

In his filing Dimmick writes: “As a result of the plaintiffs breech (sic) of contract, I, the defendant suffered a gunshot to my back, which almost killed me. The hospital bills alone are in excess of $160,000, which I have no way to pay.”

Dimmick was shot when a City of Topeka officers gun went off and he quickly turned around and sued the city for $75,000. After learning about his court case the couple sued the criminal for $75,000 claiming emotional distress.

After the hostages case was file Dimmick filed a countersuit to the tune of $235,000, while stating in his lawsuit that he will represent himself “without the aid of proffesional (sic) legal counsel.”

This is one court case I’m almost certain will lead to a quick dismissal, after all a contract is only valid if the parties agreeing to the contract are not placed under duress. I’m pretty sure being held hostage is considered being under duress.
