Have you heard the latest rumor? Yes, TMZ.com reports Nancy Grace “has signed on for” Dancing with the Stars. “What, really?” I am outraged! “Do not Judge Judy available?

Nancy Grace of CNN is the gold rating, and I hope it’s true.

Top 5 in my Sunday column, I suggested fans “ETAP” tune in “Bachelor Pad 2” (20:00 tonight, ABC) to see if some of the most recent rumors are true.

Others who may be in this season: Snooki of “Jersey Shore” Chaz Bono, David Arquette, Rob Kardashian, Hope Solo, Sheri Shepherd, Christina Milian, Kristin Cavallari, Kim Richards and Ron Artest.

My friend and “ETAP” Steven Duchon blogger sent me e-mail yesterday, spreading rumors that David Arquette was seen walking into the rehearsal on Thursday to meet with his dance partner Kym Johnson.

“This seems like a good race for Arquette, who faced a lot of media scrutiny last year on problems of marriage to Courtney Cox Arquette. It also gives the opportunity to plant ABC Cox Arquette at the hearing to help to promote her sitcom “Cougar Town”, which coincidentally will air in midseason after “Dancing” wraps, “Duchon said.

Moreover, TMZ confirms that Chaz Bono joins the cast and has been rehearsing with partner Karina Smirnoff.

Speaking of professional dancers, it looks like a professional dancer Chelsie Hightower is not coming back. And Louis van Amstel and Dmitry Chaplin cast will also be dance MIA

“However, it will get three new professionals, one of them is younger ‘ETAP’ pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy Val brother,” Duchon said.

Jack Layton State FuneralJack Layton State Funeral, Jo-Ann Wells Jack Layton did not know personally, but knew that finding a way to celebrate his funeral was important. “We thought it was the right thing to do,” said Wells, who traveled to Fredericton in Amherst, NS, with her friend Ruth Dunlop to see the state funeral in the Renaissance, the university Saturday afternoon.

“It was a big boy. He just came across as real and positive, and everything he says is true. It would have made a difference. He made a difference.

“I thought it was time to do something else to say it was a shame.”

Lights went out, a candle and a line of Orange Crush soda cans made up a simple decoration for the group of about 15 people gathered at the school to see the live broadcast of the funeral of Layton in a projector screen.

It is estimated about 2,300 people attended the ceremony at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, including members of the public who lined up outside the hall early in the morning to be admitted.

For those who could not come to Toronto, but wanted the ceremony to others, cities across Canada from Halifax to Vancouver held view events.

Karlie Hanoski, deputy director of the Organization for New Brunswick New Democratic Party, said the opportunity to bring people together was the reason to organize an event in Fredericton.

“I think the resounding theme heard from today was to come and work together,” he said.

“I think that’s the best way to honor Jack.”

Hanoski, he became involved with the National Development Plan after a friend decided to run in an election, said he was on her way back to New Brunswick after attending the wedding of a friend in Ontario, when he looked at your phone and saw the tweets saying Layton had died.

“I could not believe it,” he said.

“But then I began to see it confirmed by the CBC and the Globe, and all these other news agencies and that was when I was like, ‘Oh. This is really happening.”

She said she knew it would not be able to read his last letter in her office when he arrived.

“I opened the office, but then I said, ‘I’ll wait until I go home so you can read this on my own, as it certainly made me mourn,'” he said.

But while Hanoski said party members have been a disaster throughout the week, she also met a lot of people do not vote National Development Plan which were so upset by the death of Layton – something that the appropriations for the type of person he was.

“He was so hot and it was so striking,” he said.

“I think many people are looking for someone who can engage and connect with politics, or even just politically, but interpersonal”he said.

“We have not had anyone in recent history, recent political memory that bind people and attract people in the way Jack was able to do.”

As Hanoski, Wells said he knows many people who do not vote NDP who were upset because they felt he died too soon.

“But it was a depressing funeral. I expected it to be very, very sad,” said wells.

Dunlop agreed, calling the extraordinary service.

“Funerals should be,” he said.

Air Canada StrikeAir Canada Strike, Flight attendants of Air Canada will hold a strike vote after rejecting the overwhelming majority a new tentative agreement with the airline.

If the flight attendants give their union leaders a mandate to strike, you could see 6800 Air Canada flight attendants to leave the job and in the third week of September.

Air Canada Component of CUPE, said 88% of flight attendants who cast a ballot to vote against the agreement, with 79% of those voting do so.

“The results send a strong message to the company,” said Jeff Taylor, president of the union. “As a negotiating committee, we heard our members loud and clear. We negotiate the best price we thought it could in the current political context. It was not enough and to take that message back to the company as strong as possible. ”

The union said today he will meet with members in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, and will hold a strike vote between Sept. 04 and 13.

If the flight attendants give a strike mandate, which could leave the job after the airline served 72 hours notice.

“We understand the demands of our members and the desire for better treatment and respect they deserve. After a decade of concessions, the membership has made it clear he wants a fair deal, especially since the company is in a much better financial position, “said Taylor.

Meanwhile, the airline said it was “business as usual” despite the fact that the agreement is not ratified.

“Customers can continue to book flights on Air Canada with confidence,” the airline said in a statement.

Flight attendants are the second of the Air Canada unions to reject an offer of new work presented to them by their union leadership.

The Pilots Association Air Canada also rejected a tentative agreement in May, partly because of his support to a new low-cost airline to airline, including the reduction of salaries and benefits for their employees.

However, pilots also rejected the offer because it contained measures to advance the new contracts in a defined contribution plan pension instead of the current defined benefit programs.

ACPA members then voted some of the leaders of the union, including its president.

The agreement of the flight attendants also supported the low-cost airline. However, union members agreed to put the pension issue before a federal arbitrator after an agreement was not reached to a process that is underway for the Canadian Auto Workers at the airline.

The CAW, which represents 3800 sales and service agents in the airline, is awaiting a decision on their own pensions in the next two weeks.

CAW members conducted a three-day strike earlier this year when negotiations broke labor. They returned to work after an agreement was reached, and the issue of pensions was put out by the arbitration.

Flight attendants of 5 years a tentative agreement includes wage increases of 2% in the first three years, and 3% in the next two.

Brattleboro Vermont Flooding

August 29, 2011 by · Comments Off on Brattleboro Vermont Flooding

Brattleboro Vermont FloodingBrattleboro Vermont Flooding, The flooding brought by Tropical Storm Irene began to fall Monday in Vermont, but the governor warned that the flooding and loss of life is likely before the small state, rural.

“It’s just devastating,” said Governor Peter Shumlin Monday. “Whole communities under water, businesses, homes, obviously, roads and bridges, rail transport infrastructure. We have lost the crops of farmers,” he said. “We are tough people here, but Irene … it really hit us hard.”

Even the state emergency management based in Waterbury on Sunday night flooded, forcing authorities to evacuate Burlington, about 20 miles away.

“The storm essentially southern Vermont shut down,” said State Police Capt. Ray Keefe. “It’s terrible.”

Hundreds of people remain trapped in communities isolated by the raging waters that washed or damaged 263 roads and bridges, Shumlin said. Exactly how many were stranded Monday remains unclear, he said.

“It’s hard for us to know, frankly, because it is difficult for us to reach the communities that we have come,” he said.

Highlighting the problems of transportation, Vermont National Guard had to travel through the neighboring Massachusetts for rescue teams to the small, cut the city of Wilmington, said the governor.

One death had been confirmed as a result of the storm. The fatality occurred in Wilmington, where a woman standing near a dead river after being swept away. His body has been recovered, authorities said.

“I can say with confidence that there is more loss of life,” said Shumlin, adding that authorities are searching for several missing people.

At 11 am ET, officials said at least 50,000 homes and businesses in the state remained without power.

Images of flooding was usually tranquil streams flowing through the city streets and beating against the buildings and bridges, including some of the famous covered bridges in the state. Between four and six covered bridges were destroyed in the floods, officials said.

The floods are the worst in the state since 1927, officials said.

“I can not think of anything in my life I’ve seen flooding this bad,” said Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy.

Many areas of the state remained under flood warnings Monday morning, reports the National Weather Service continued the unprecedented floods in some places.

For example, the Otter Creek in Rutland, Vermont, was at a depth of less than 4 feet Sunday morning more than 17 feet at 1:45 am on Monday – about 4 feet higher than the record established in 1938, according to the National Weather Service service. Although it was falling Monday morning, it was still 8 feet above flood stage.

Shumlin said the likely additional flooding problems as water spilled from the smaller streams in large rivers.

CNN iReporter Andrew Cliver had gone through a hurricane before, but said the hilly terrain of Vermont amplified the effects of rainfall Irene.

“Because it is so hilly here, the water all drains into streams and rivers running with a force that is powerful enough to move the buildings that have been standing for 100 years,” he said.

Barack Obama President signed a disaster declaration for the state on Monday, allowing federal aid to state.

Unlike many states, Vermont did not order or suggest evacuations. Many cities in the state are in the lowlands and there are few large tracts of dry land, so large-scale evacuations are not practical, Shumlin said.

Some cities are part evacuate during the night, including the state capital of Montpelier, but the situation in the town of 8000 located 50 miles from Canada was not as bad as feared, officials said. Floodwaters appeared to peak on the Winooski River early Monday.

“There seems to be much more than that flooding has been reported previously,” said City Manager William J. Fraser. “In general, do not expect conditions worse. Agua slowly begin to recede in the morning.”

In Brattleboro, a town of 12,000 people in the New Hampshire border, Whetstone Brook burst its banks and has undermined a three-story building, threatening to take it down.

“We have seen nothing like this,” said Barbara Sondage, town manager of Brattleboro.

Permanent resident Jesse Stone saw rip off the White River bridge foundations in the historic Quechee covered as lava through the heart of the city.

“It’s almost impossible to imagine the bridge being taken,” Stone said in an iReport. “It is usually (far) above the water level.”
