The Flintstones Characters, Fifty years ago today, the world was introduced to the characters in The Flintstones, especially Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty. Trevor Pryce

Trevor Pryce, Rex Ryan, did not conceal that it was difficult after Trevor Pryce after the veteran defensive lineman was released by the Ravens on Wednesday.

“We saw it as an opportunity – a window, maybe,” Rex Ryan said. “As soon as we left him at liberty, we, of course, got a little excited about it. At first I was like, ‘No way it was released.” ”

But he was.

And Ryan rushed in.

Ryan did not believe he broke relations with his former team with the signing of a corridor inside. Ravens coach John Harbaugh, of course, said it was a “high possibility” that Pryce was re-signed next week.

“I never got a call from (Ravens GM) Ozzie (Newsome),” Ryan said. “But Ozzie knows me very well that if Trevor Pryce left there, then we will try to bring it in. It’s as simple as that …. If it is important to Ozzie, I would have called.”

In other words, there is an unwritten rule to fire. Ryan Pryce called a “classifier” like Jason Taylor and plans to use the low pass against the Bills on Sunday.

Pryce, who ranks third among active players in sacks, has only one front in the first three games.

So, what is the interior corridor spending 35 years of age, have left in the tank?

“It has more juice than Tropicana,” said linebacker Bart Scott, a former teammate in Baltimore.

Scott also did not support the idea that the Jets did not have to go to Pryce, because the Ravens plan to return to his signature.

“I think he had every intention of bringing him back, but we beat them in hand,” said Scott. “That just shows you how much people love to have for Rex. Is willing to let a football team competing for a spot in the playoffs, possibly an ad in the Super Bowl to get to another due to his relationship with Rex. I sure I had every intention of bringing it back on Monday. But it took Rex. ”

“Only one team that could pull this off,” said Scott. “And we did.”

In addition, Pryce decided not to stay in Baltimore.

“He’s a grown man,” continued Scott. “He gets to go wherever he wants. It’s not my fault that I like most about what you like. It’s your choice. You get a jealous when a girl grabbed her friend and not a choice?”

Scott also said he had a lot of crows there were other places with Pryce change in a heartbeat.

“I guarantee that is likely to have boys in the same place now jealous as hell,” said Scott. “Trevor probably texts like:” Man, come get me too. “I guarantee that there are at least 15 other players out there who is praying to God that have been released for half a day too, so they can come here. They do not. But I guarantee you.”

The lesson of history is simple, according to Scott. Do not give up good players and assume that will be available within a few days.

“It’s a very dangerous game,” said Scott.

Rutgers Student, Wales – five Ryder Cup rookies to help the U.S. team that begins play Friday against Europe when the renewal 38 of the biennial competition begins at the Celtic Manor.

In a bold move, the U.S. captain Corey Pavin to play four members for the first time in an open session in the morning four-ball – two matched in the game of the fourth and final of the competition more ball. Bubba Watson and Jeff Overton will go against the Euro-glam pairing the name of Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington to close the morning session.

It is a decision that opens a wave Pavin guess.

Each captain speaks of a desire to take control of the early momentum, so the American captain anchor the opening session with a couple of rookies against a pro-European crowd attracted immediate debate.

That is especially true considering that Jim Furyk, Ryder Cup seven times the artist comes from a great victory on Sunday in the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup, was left out.

“Well, he said he was tired,” joked Pavin of Furyk. “I was counting the money and he was very tired.”

As for the linking of Watson-Overton, Pavin said he has a good feeling.

“The kids are very excited to go out and play,” he said. “I really wanted to leave in the morning and the Ryder Cup experience.

“I felt as if he expected to play, hoping that would probably crazy. Are chomping at the bit to go. They both have a lot of firepower. You can do a lot of birdies and is a great format for both.”

Pavin will begin the day a little more predictable, linking two oldest rookie before moving on to a thought-to-be proven commodity.

Phil Mickelson, making his eighth start of the Ryder Cup, will join the first and Dustin Johnson in the opening match against Europe’s Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer.

Westwood is ranked No. 3 in the world, but has not played competitively since early August due to a leg injury. Kaymer is a Ryder Cup rookie, but also happens to be coming off a victory in the PGA Championship.

“Dustin and I wanted to arrive early,” said Mickelson. “We like the challenge of playing a European team very difficult.”

In the second game, the U.S. send veteran Stewart Cink and rookie Matt Kuchar against Northern Ireland duo of rookie Rory McIlroy and U.S. Open winner Graeme McDowell.

The couple hopes of Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker, a matched set 4-0 in the Presidents Cup last year in the third game against Ian Poulter and rookie Ross Fisher.

Woods continues his streak of never missing a session in any Ryder Cups he has played, for a total of 26 consecutive games.

In the past, Woods has been traditionally slots in the first group, which is used in an effort to produce a quick start. This time, having been assigned to the third group, Europe captain Colin Montgomerie suggested that it was “Tiger is hidden.”

Interesting theory.

“But we all know, every point is important wherever it is,” said Monty. “Ian Poulter is eager to get going now.

“It’s a very difficult game, of course. Tiger and Steve, probably the two best players on the U.S. team.”

Watson / Overton and Donald Harrington / then finish the morning.

“That’s a surprise,” Montgomerie said of the rookie U.S. pairing. “It’s strange … I would not say that the decision strange, do not misunderstand me. Something like that.

“I know Luke Donald and Padraig Harrington did not expect to play two rookies in the final game. I would not have expected that.”

Combinations for the game in the afternoon alternate shot will be announced after the work in the morning.

“Matches are fun,” said Pavin. “When you start looking at them, you start to think about it. Both teams are good and so deep, you can only pull two names from a hat for each side and put the boys together and they will have a great game.

“Obviously, I pull two names from a hat for each group. But I like a partner. I think every game will be a great game.’re Going to be fun and that will be fun.’re Going to be very difficult to predict “.
