Austin News Wildfire, Authorities say a wildfire southeast of Austin has destroyed about 300 homes and is moving out of control through dry ranch along a front of 16 miles.
Texas Forest Service spokeswoman Jan Amen, said Monday that firefighters are unable to begin containing the fire in Bastrop County.
The forest service says the fire has destroyed some 300 houses burned over 17,500 acres.
