December 5, 2009 by · Comments Off on Florida vs Alabama 2009 Game Time

Florida vs Alabama 2009 Game Time:It’s a game that will set up a near automatic entry into the BCS title game January 7, 2010. It is Florida vs Alabama 2009, game time 4 PM EST, for the Southeastern Conference or SEC championship. It is a duplicate of last season’s SEC championship game, and as the Florida vs Alabama 2009 game time approaches, much discussion about the teams, their philosophies, and the Heisman chances of Gator QB Tim Tebow are on minds.

In the BCS standings, Florida is ranked 1, and Alabama is ranked 2; the winner will play in the BCS title game January 7, 2010 against a team to be determined later. Of the trailing teams in the BCS standings, Texas is most likely to be the opposition in ch BCS championship game. Alternatively Cincinnati or TCU also have a chance.

Florida vs Alabama 2009, game time 4 PM EST will be broadcast nationally on CBS from the Georgia Dome. Last year Florida beat Alabama for the SEC title, with the Crimson Tide leading going into the fourth quarter, and Florida QB Tim Tebow rallying his team to a 30-21 victory. Florida then beat Oklahoma 24-14 to win the BCS and national; championship. The Gators were 12-1 and Oklahoma 12-2 in 2008.

This year, both Florida and Alabama are undefeated at 12-0. This is the first SEC 1 vs. 2 pairing in which both teams enter the game undefeated.

Florida vs Alabama 2009, game time 4 PM EST is more than just a game to win get to the BCS title game, however. Florida has a chance to win its third BCS title in 4 years. It would also be Tim Tebow’s third BCS title, and give him a boost in the Heisman Trophy running.

Despite the fact that Tim Tebow has won a Heisman (2007) and two national championships so far, many doubt his ability to be a pro quarterback. The reason is simple: Florida runs a gimmicky non-pro-style offense. QBs who come from such schemes frequently fail in the pros. A comparison between the SF 49ers Alex Smith, drafted number 1 overall, and GB QB Aaron Rodgers, drafted late in the same draft (2005) in round 1, shows the truth. Smith was #1, yet came from a spread offense and has struggled. Rodgers came from a pro style offense and has shone.

As the Florida vs Alabama 2009, game time looms, though, none of that will be on the minds of fans. For Alabama, much of it is about revenge for last year’s devastating loss. For Florida, it is about winning it all and setting a standard unmatched in recent memory.

As the game approaches, the two teams have opposing Heisman candidates on offense. It’s Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, despite the gimmicky offense, making a rush to catch Colt McCoy, the favorite, to win his second Heisman. Alabama, though, has RB Mark Ingram, also in the running for the Heisman, but trying to come back from an injury against Auburn last week.

Alabama will win if their defense can stop the tricky Florida dive and option plays. NT Terrence Cody will be a key to that for Alabama. In addition, if they manage to do that, they will also have to stop the quick slant of Tebow to TE Aaron Hernandez. Also key for Alabama: will RB Mark Ingram be able to overcome last week’s injury?

In July, most media predicted a showdown between Florida and Alabama in the SEC title game. Since the SEC split into two divisions in 1992, these are the type of games that fans have been clamoring for. Thankfully, the hype is nearly over as mere hours separate us from Florida vs Alabama 2009 game time.
