Obama Fried ChickenObama Fried Chicken, The image of President Barack Obama as Colonel Sanders advertising a fried chicken restaurant would be immediately identified as unacceptable racist, but seems to be exactly what has appeared in Beijing. The Daily Mail that “Obama Fried Chicken”, the President of suspenders and bow tie and the motto, “We’re cool, right?”

It is strange enough (and probably some kind of copyright infringement, but that depends on what the copyright laws in Communist China will) that this independent company decided that the President of the United States would be your best spokesperson but it seems that aren ‘t the only one who thinks Obama = infinite profits chicken. The current president has used the KFC commercials in China, too. The Daily Mail tries to make sense of this:

Obama Fried chicken may be a response to the U.S. filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization over Chinese tariffs on U.S. chicken exports.

According to the New York Times, the tariffs affect an industry that employs about 300,000 people, ranging from 50 to 100 percent, which means that some Chinese importers paid up to twice the price of U.S. chicken.

Perhaps the Chinese have an obsession of Obama chicken. Earlier this year in Hong Kong, an Obama lookalike was used for advertising of KFC. Sign the restaurant was first seen by TheShanghaiist.com and picked up by msnbc.com. […]

Some people have complained about the name plays on old racial stereotypes.

Hmm … wonder why anyone would think this plays into racial stereotypes! Best case, this is a very strange phenomenon, the president has appeared in all sorts of kitsch before, but there are certainly some serious red flags (no pun intended) are being raised by the fact that the president continues to appear in China an effective salesperson fried chicken.
