Norma Lopez Moreno Valley, The family of Norma Lopez Moreno Valley killed the girl, who officials say was abducted in July while walking home from classes in summer school, announced the arrest of her murder.

Sheriff’s officials could not confirm the arrest was made.

Norma’s sister Elizabeth announced the arrest Thursday night on a Facebook page titled “Find Norma Lopez.”

“I waited a year and 3 months and my answer I have been waiting for is finally answered. I promised this crime was not gunna (sic) without response and the FBI failed us …” the message read. “He has been found and is in jail, we go to trial … more info will be in the press tomorrow, as there will be a press conference announcing the murderer of my sister has found …”

He arrived about 11 pm Thursday, Riverside County Sgt. Joe Borja could not comment on the case.

“We can not confirm anything for now,” he said.

According to jail records, Moreno Valley police arrested a man Thursday in Long Beach on suspicion of murder and kidnapping to commit rape. The authorities have not confirmed if the same suspect in the murder of Norma.

Jesse Perez Torres, 35, was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside at 6 pm No charges have been filed in Riverside County or federal court. Bail was set at 1 million. He is not in the database of the state as a sex offender.

Norma’s death captured the community and left in a state of fear and anxiety. Families struggled with the idea that a child may be abducted in broad daylight. Hours after her death, thousands of people in high school to mourn Standard and share the memories of her companion robbed.

Norma was kidnapped July 15, 2010, while walking home from classes in summer school at Valley View High School in eastern Moreno Valley.

There were no witnesses to her abduction. A green SUV was seen away from the area.

His body was found in a field of five days later, although the police had no suspects. Researchers toured the city, tracking thousands of leads and interviewing almost all sex offenders registered in the city.

Researchers have long believed that the murderer was a stranger Standard who had kidnapped her as a crime of opportunity while walking home alone. The case prompted new warnings to parents to protect their children closely and make sure they were supervised at all times.

DNA found in the body of standards were presented to the State Department database of justice to be checked against existing or new suspects.

From the first anniversary of the death, police said there were no punches and each end was dry. Police said a new tip or someone that may arise.

The authorities have not announced new developments in the case, but is expected to release information on Friday.
