Marvell ScottMarvell Scott, Former WABC sportscaster Marvell Scott was sentenced to 20 days of community service Tuesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge involving a sexual encounter with a runaway girl 14 years old.

Scott, 38, initially faced charges of statutory rape and a prostitute by June 2008 to connect to the upstate teenager, so it could have been sentenced to seven years behind bars. Instead, he pleaded guilty to endangering children and will not do any jail or probation.

Scott has denied having sex with the teenager, but on Tuesday told the Supreme Court in Manhattan Ronald Zweibel who “acted in a way that could harm a girl for her inappropriate touching.” He also said he only learned of her age after the meeting.

“We have maintained all along that he was innocent,” said Scott’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman. “This agreement seals.”

Scott, a former football player at the University of Iowa and the University of Delaware and a sports medicine physician, was charged in February 2010. Prosecutors said Scott took the teenager and his girlfriend of 16 years old to his apartment W. 47th Street and had sex with her after paying her pi*p.

At his arraignment, prosecutors said Scott met the teens and her pi*p at 47th and Ninth Avenue. Scott, first denied knowing the girl, but the security cameras caught her and her friend into his apartment.

The video shows Scott, be the youngest girl to his apartment, but when the frightened teenager refused and returned to the pi*p and demanded the return, prosecutors charged. Older teens, however, spoke to her friend in her and the two went back up with Scott, authorities said.
