College StudentsCollege Students, Parents already have much to worry about when your child goes to college. For example, your older child is chosen, pass all courses and tuition affordable stay. In addition to all stressors, parents now have to worry about the safety of their children.

Although the university is primarily a safe place, many students can easily get lost in the huge number of students attending the school. With no curfew and a high level of freedom that many students may be at risk.

Spierer Lauren, a student at the University of Indiana, June 3 was lost after leaving with another student and the student returned to the bedroom. No suspects or has found evidence of her whereabouts. The only clues that police

Surveillance cameras and a student’s statement indicating the time that Lauren was last seen.

Disappearance of Lauren can happen to any student in a university campus. And although the university should be a time where students can be independent and unsupervised, both students and parents should take extra precautions.

GPS Tracker for mobile phones: There is nothing like knowing where their children, regardless of time of day. If your child has a cell phone on them, can be easily located with a GPS tracker. This will minimize the call, especially when no answer. You know where 24 / 7. This is especially good for parents who want to give their children’s privacy, but simply want to find your child if they are losing.
Always Double Date: It may sound old fashioned, but this is one of the easiest things students can do to maintain a level of security to go out at night. Bring a friend along and encouraged to bring your date too. And by all means leave the other. Stay together until the end of the day.
Send a text: Let someone know where you are going and who you are. As an adult, I let someone know where I am and who I am. This is simply to reassure those you love.
Use of Security Services on Campus: In BA, while in Michigan, had a program called Night Owl. That picks up students when regular transportation was not available between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Or you could call a toll and a group of student volunteers meet with you and guide you back to your bedroom. Many universities have programs like these would be good to call if you are walking on campus at night.
The universities have security measures in the bedrooms, but when it comes to public lands in the campus, anyone can be able to step on campus. Be safe.
