Poughkeepsie Journal, A policeman was killed and three policemen wounded in a shooting Friday near a suspect’s state of New York station. The train was shot and later died in hospital after the incident Poughkeepsie, NY, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported. It was not immediately clear what caused the melee, but sources said police were investigating whether it was triggered by a domestic dispute. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in a parking lot near a highway junction near the main train station.
(AP) – Authorities say a police officer was shot and killed the gunman in a shooting near a station in New York, Hudson Valley. Three other policemen were injured, but police have not said what their injuries are.
Poughkeepsie Mayor John Tkazyik told the Poughkeepsie Journal the officers were taken to hospital.
Greg Zurawik, a spokesman for St. Francis Hospital, said the gunman died at the hospital Friday afternoon. He said the man suffered a gunshot wound, but he had no other details.

Poughkeepsie is a city of about 30,000 people about 70 miles south of Albany.
