Big Brother 13 Episode 11

Big Brother 13 Episode 11, The episode picks up with the houseguests as they continue to compete in this week’s Head of Household competition, which sees them swinging on skis attached to the side of a large, makeshift avalanche. Every player has his or her own reasons for winning, with Jeff, Daniele and Kalia all certain that they will go home during the next elimination if they don’t become Head of Household.

While the task seems easy at first, houseguests begin to struggle as the incline increases the stress on their bodies. Adam is the first to fall off and must choose a snowball to open. He then discovers that he must wear an elf costume for a week. Lawon follows and finds that his snowball declares him a ‘Have Not’ this week. Next off is Brendon, who is also a have not. Jeff jumps soon after and finds that he has won $10,000 (£6,000) from his snowball.

Jordan becomes a ‘Have Not’ next, leaving only Daniele, Shelly, Kalia and Porshe in the game. Porsche falls after her arms become too painful. The veterans are nervous, admitting that Shelly is the only one who can save them from going up on the block. The veterans cheer loudly for Shelly, causing Kalia to ask her if she’s working with the veterans, which she denies. Shelly goes down soon after, leaving only Daniele and Kalia to wait it out to see who will win. Daniele is eventually victorious and becomes Head of Household for the week.

After the task, Daniele and Kalia privately celebrate, with Daniele admitting that she’s ready to “turn the house upside down” and “make people sweat”. Rachel is understandably concerned and the entire veteran alliance’s morale is down. Kalia makes a comment to Rachel in the kitchen in trying to apologise but Rachel lashes out and tells her to leave her alone.

Daniele later tells Jordan that she is not after her or Jeff, though Jordan is hesitant to believe it considering Daniele’s previous plan to ‘backdoor’ Jeff. Jordan then repeats the conversation to Jeff. Rachel and Brendon soon join the conversation, with all four renewing their alliance and encouraging one another to stay strong.

Later that afternoon, Daniele invites the houseguests up to see her HoH room and everyone feigns excitement. She shows off photos of her family and friends but the group soon disperses. That night in the garden, Lawon shares his coming out experience with Shelly and Jordan. The conversation is an eye-opener for Jordan, who generally has more conservative beliefs, and she declares that she would treat her future children no different if they were gay.

Jeff and Jordan head up to the HoH room that night to speak to Daniele and find out her plans for the coming week. While Daniele knows that she is in power this week, she understands the importance of “mending fences” quickly so that her back can be covered next. She then strikes a deal with Jeff and Jordan that in exchange for not nominating them this week. They will keep her off the block when they are back in power.

The next day, Adam is called to the diary room to retrieve the elf costume that he must wear for the week. This amuses the houseguests and Adam himself also takes it in stride and has a good time with it. The Have Nots’ menu of seafood and sardines is also revealed, and they must eat these two things in addition to slop.

Brendon and Rachel are the next to approach Daniele in an attempt to secure their place in the house. Brendon and Rachel admit that they were “hurt” by Daniele’s moves against their alliance but they suggest that Daniele keeps the veteran alliance in the house to wipe out the newbies. Daniele says that she is not making deals with anyone but is “open” to hearing what everyone has to say.

At the nominations ceremony, Daniele places Brendon and Rachel on the chopping block. She claims that it is “nothing personal” and that she put them up for eviction because she believes that it’s the best move for her own game. Rachel vows to wage “full-fledged war” against Daniele if Brendon goes home.
