Woody Allen Amazon: Woody & Miley Co-Stars, Miley Cyrus is heading back to the small screen.

Woody Allen has cast Cyrus (along with veteran actress Elaine May) in his new Amazon series, Deadline is reporting.

Allen will co-star in the series, consisting of six half-hour episodes, and taking place in the 1960s.

This will be Cyrus’ first major acting gig since “Hannah Montana” ended in 2011.

The former Disney starlet turned wild child – known more for sticking her tongue out and taking her top off than her acting chops – appeared on “Two and a Half Men” in 2012 and in Sofia Coppola and Bill Murray’s recent Netflix holiday special “A Very Murray Christmas.”

The series reportedly will begin filming in March and is slated to be released sometime in 2017.

May, 83, known for her roles in “Tootsie” and “The Graduate,” appeared in Allen’s 2000 film, “Small Time Crooks.”

Allen, 80, recently finished production on his unnamed movie starring Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Steve Carell, Blake Lively, and Parker Posey.
