Wind Farm
December 23, 2013 by staff
Wind Farm, A 12-turbine wind farm between three villages in three counties has been rejected by the Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
The wind farm would have been built between Bozeat in Northamptonshire, Harrold in Bedfordshire and Lavendon in Buckinghamshire.
Villagers had opposed RWE npower’s Nun Wood Wind Farm scheme for eight years.
A public inquiry found against the developer which lost its appeal and is now considering the ruling.
Campaigners said they hoped the battle had now been won and they could now relax.
A spokesman added that they would spend the Christmas examining the final judgement, which is in a 111-page document.
“We hope for now that this will be the end to any attempt to build a wind farm in this area, but suspect we may not have seen the the last of it.
“We haven’t as yet had time to study and analyse the report.
“But we will see where we need to remain vigilant in the coming months as RWE npower could challenge this in the High Court or could indeed submit a new planning application.”
