Trump’s Warning of ‘Potential Death and Destruction’ if Charged in Hush Money Probe

March 25, 2023 by

Donald Trump, the former President, has stepped up his rhetoric against the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into a hush money payment made during his 2016 campaign. In an overnight post on his Truth Social platform, Trump warned of the possibility of “potential death and destruction” if he is charged in the case.

Last weekend, Trump suggested that he would be arrested in the investigation and urged his supporters to “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” He has since taken to social media to attack Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling for his removal from the post and alleging, without evidence, that the investigation is politically motivated.

However, Trump’s latest post on Truth Social, made early on Friday, represents his most explicit reference to violence to date. This echoes his intensified rhetoric during the events leading up to the January 6, 2021, assault on the U.S. Capitol by his supporters.
