Temple Of Recumbent Buddha, Beijing, Built in the seventh century in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the present name has been used since an enormous bronze recumbent Buddha was cast in 1321. The 5.2-metre-long sleeping Buddha, the pride of the temple, weighs 54 tons.

The temple is also famous for its rare and beautiful trees. Located in the eastern side of the Fragrant Hill, 20 kilometers from the city center, the temple is set against mountain cliffs. Tickets are purchased at the Botanical Garden. From there walk to the temple or take the small scenic train.
