KBTX was the first television station in the Brazos Valley. It aired in the same building on East 29th Street in Bryan since its on-air May 22, 1957, although the building was added repeatedly. Five other men were injured in the shooting and are expected to survive. Authorities are still investigating and say they have no motive for the shooting.
