Spurs Timberwolves, An NBA game in Mexico City between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves was postponed Wednesday after smoke filled the inside of the arena.
The smoke was caused by a generator malfunction outside Mexico City Arena, according to a statement released by the NBA. The smoke hovered above the floor and the lower bowl of the arena, leading to the arena’s evacuation about 45 minutes before tip-off.
The NBA released the following statement:
The National Basketball Association game scheduled for tonight between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves has been postponed due to a generator malfunction which produced smoke inside Mexico City Arena.
The date for the rescheduled game, which will be played at Target Center in Minneapolis, will be announced at a later time.
The Spurs’ official Twitter account tweeted a photo of the smoke covering the entire floor:

The clouds of smoke also spilled into the Spurs’ locker room, forcing the players to seek refuge on the team bus, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
So there’s smoke leaking from the ceiling and power is out in one half of the arena. Doesn’t seem good.
