Wheat Jamestown, North Dakota, A group of Chinese milling executives plan to visit North Dakota to get a firsthand look at the state’s hard red spring wheat crop.

The North Dakota Wheat Commission said the millers will be in the state Sunday through Tuesday. Officials said the Chinese millers are interested in hearing about growing conditions, price outlook and wheat breeding and quality programs at North Dakota State University.

Officials said demand for U.S. wheat in China is strong and growing. U.S. sales to the country for the first two months of the years totaled more than 131 million bushels. Officials said that’s nearly nine times the five-year average.
